Chapter 35
Headaches
My dry, sensitive eyes slowly began to open, vulnerable to the unwelcomed light.
The whole world seeming blurry and spinny for a second, before becoming normal and still once again.
It took me a second to reconise the unfamiliar room. After a second of blankly staring at the yellowish walls, it all came rushing back to me, along with a painfull swoosh of a brisk head ache.
My ears were ringing, my head was pounding.
What the hell happened last night?
I sat up slowly, easing my body upwards. The crisp morning air made me shiver, goosebumps raising up along my arms as the cold air seeped into my blankets, which were shielding my body against the unwelcome daylight.
My vision blurred as the blood rushed through my head. I waited for it to pass.I put my fingers lightly to my temples, keeping my head from splitting in two.
Thank god it was quiet.
Wait a second...
It was never quiet around here. Well, never with Mark around. A troubled frown went down my spine, where could they have gone?
Slowly, I looked around the empty room. Where did Evan and Mark go?
I scanned the room, searching for any mouvement of sign of one of those crazy boys. My eyes caught onto a yellow paper on the wall across from the bed.
I crawled towards it, my body slumping. The cold air took advantage to my bare skin, making me cross my arms for warmth.
I winced with each step, my head throbbing. I made a silent vow to never touch alcohol again, I promise myself this.
Rubbing my tired and probably red eyes, I unstuck the sticky note from the desk top, taking it in my hand and holding his close to my face.
Dear Soph, it said.
Morning beautiful :)
Hope you slept well.
I am taking Mark out, you probably don't need to excess noise. I'll be back around lunch time, and I'll Mark sure to leave Mark somewheres for the night. He can get noisy, you see.
Hope you feel better, you were completely hammered last night. ;)
See you later, Boo
-Evan
I smiled at the little note, then placed it back in it's spot. Reading on the highlighter yellow was making my head pound.
A wash of relief filled through me briefly. Now, with the satisfaction and peace of mind I can take care of myself today.
I clicked on the coffee machine, waiting for it to finish, then poured myself a warm, steaming cup.
I took a sip, nearly burning my mouth off. I ignored the burning in my throat as I chugged it back. The strong taste bothered me but also helped.
I placed the empty cup onto the shelf, next to the coffee maker and next to the still-full coffee mug I used the first night here.
I started towards the bed again, wanting to curl up in a ball and sleep until tomorrow. My eyes caught onto the seemingly out of place things on the bedside table.
I padded closer on the carpetting, noticing that they were in fact two white pills, Advil or Tyonol.
Good boyfriend, I smiled gratefully. I took the medicine pills, swallowing them with out having to taste them, then dragged myself into the shower.
