Chapter- 147

Edward finally nods. She extends her arms to Jacob. He grins, picks her up and held her tight.

Just run Jacob demanded Edward.

Jacob runs through the trees carrying Bella not super human speed but fast and not breaking a sweat. Finally Jacob sets Bella down. They start to walk, circling back slowly towards their distant starting point.

We'll see if that works. You gonna ask me and Sel to sit out the fight too? or you don't care about our safety? asked Jacob.

Of course I care, but you both would say no. Unless maybe you'd consider it said Bella.

Yeah - right but that doesn't mean he loves you more. And besides Me or Sel don't have the choice anyway. Since we let Sam be alpha, we have to live with the shots he calls said Jacob.

Wait you both let him be alpha? what does that mean? How could Sel be an alpha? asked Bella.

Technically I was supposed to be Alpha and Sel need to be the beta. It's a lineage thing. It also would mean being chief or the elder in case of Sel. We should be the chief and elder of the entire tribe but we turned it down when Sam offered said Jacob.

You're kidding said Bella.

We didn't want to be in a pack, let alone be their leader said Jacob.

Wow Chief Jacob said Bella.

You can love more than one person at a time. I've seen it with Sam, Emily and Leah said Jacob.

Adelyn Pov( Clearing):

All we picked up was wolf stench. No Bella said Jasper.

This will work Edward I said.

Great said Edward gritting his teeth.

Come on I need to pick up Bella from the usual border so that we could meet Alice in Bella's house and think of something to do I said.

Right we should do that said Jasper wanting to leave this place and the scent.

Edward sighed and nodded.

I left them near the clearing and went to the border from the club house lane.

I could hear two heartbeats and they emerged from the trees.

Ready to go Bella I said.

Yeah sure. Bye Jacob said Bella and hugged him.

I stayed there wanting nothing more than just to leave this place.

Normal Pov:

Bella went to her room and she could see Edward lying on her bed. She joined him in bed. Bella was tired and she fell asleep. Edward only heard the car screech in the distance.

Bella woke up later that evening. Edward face was fixed on something. Bella could not think of something other than she just stared at him.

What are you thinking? asked Bella.

He didn't speak. She knew what he was thinking of - the same thing she been thinking of.

Carlisle, Esme, Emmett, Rosalie, Alice, Jasper....... she forced herself to think the last name then she thought of Adelyn.

Why do you want me to let them fight without my help? asked Edward with a quiet voice.

I can't stand it. Not knowing whether or not you'll come back. How do I live through that, no matter how quickly it's over? said Bella.

You really want me to stay out of this? said Edward.

Yes. or to let me be there. Either way, as long as we're together, said Bella.

His eyes tightened on some emotions. Bella couldn't read and he dropped one hand to pull out his phone again.

Adelyn could you arrange someone to babysit for Bella. I need to speak with Jasper said Edward raising one eyebrow daring Bella to object the word.

Adelyn evidently agreed. He put the phone away and went back to staring at Bella's face.

What are you going to say to Jasper asked Bella.

I'm going to discuss......... something about our plan said Edward.

I'm sorry said Bella.

Don't apologize. Never be afraid to tell me how you feel, Bella. If this is what you need. You are my first to priority as Jasper will be Adelyn's top priority said Edward.

I didn't mean it that way - like you have to choose me over your family, said Bella.

I know that. besides, that's not what you asked. You gave me two alternatives that you could live with and I chose the one that I could live with. That's how compromise is supposed to work said Edward.

They heard some sizzling sound in the kitchen.

I think Adelyn has here, said Edward.

Of course, Adelyn could see the future and can read minds also that why she herself came here, said Bella.

Oh, you didn't know do you, Bella?. She can do only one thing at a time. It is either mind reading or another gift she chooses at a time, said Edward.

So she cannot do more that one power at a time. I didn't know that said Bella honestly.

Before he could speak Adelyn appeared in the kitchen doorway with a sour expression.

You're going to miss all the fun Adelyn mumbled.

Hello, Addy greeted Edward smiling and turned to Bella and continued I'll be back later. I'll go and work this out with the others and rearrange things.

There's not much to arrange. We already told them. Emmett is pleased and Jasper needs a better explanation. He thought about making me stay out of this said Adelyn.

Like that could help said Edward and walked out the door, leaving Bella to face Adelyn.

She glared at Bella.

I'm sorry. Do you think this will make it more dangerous for you? said, Bella.

You worry too much, Bella. I'm worried about Jasper. You're going to go prematurely grey said Adelyn.
