Real Life
Melissa, breathe. Breathe it's okay. I was so nervous to see Diego again, I don't know how tonight is going to go. Maybe we'll be okay, maybe too much shit has happened, but all I know is I have missed Diego. At least the Diego I have gotten to know, not the literal fuckboy that I kept getting glimpses of. I wasn't sure which Diego I would ever get, but I knew I needed to talk to Diego. After I unblocked him, he blew up my phone begging me to talk, and of course no matter how much space I wanted, I always wanted Diego around so I gave in and agreed to him coming over. I'm slightly regretting my decision now that it is almost time and my anxiety is creeping in. I hear a knock on the door, my heart clenches knowing it must be Diego. I slowly get up and walk towards the door. When I open it, I see Diego standing there with a hesitant smile, dressed in his typical beanie and hoodie.
"Diego." I say breathlessly, moving to the side so he can enter. Instead he envelops me into a hug.
"Little baby." He murmurs into my hair. "Fuck I've missed you." I feel tears rim my eyes, I just hold onto Diego. "Don't you ever ignore me again, I need you in my life."
"I missed you too Diego, and don't be such a little shit and I wont have too." I murmur, he sweeps me up, I wrap my legs around him as he closes the front door taking us to the couch. He sits down, holding me close, we sit like this for hours until I pull away to look him in the eyes.
"Sweet girl, I'm so sorry. I know I'm the one that asked you for space, I know that I'm the shithead, but I need you apart of my life. Anyway that you will let me, I want in. I care about you, so much. I like you Melissa, like not friend like. I like you." He wraps his arms around me, making sure that I can't pull away.
"Diego." I murmur. "Yeah, and after your space, I realized I needed it too. I need you in my life too. Fuck, Diego I like you too. Not in a friendly way either but I don't think I'm ready to be in a relationship just yet. I need to get my shit together before I jump into a relationship."
"Okay, then we are friends who like each other and spend as much time together as they can. Mainly because I want to sweep you off your feet. And we both need to get our shits together, so we both do that and then when the time is right, you'll be my girl okay?" He says, moving hair out of my face, caressing my face.
"Okay." I say, leaning into his hand, looking into his eyes. I forgot how beautiful his eyes were, I could look into his eyes and be completely content. My resolve crumbled the minute I saw his face, fuck space fuck the last couple weeks, I just needed Diego around me again.
"Okay?" He gives a me a smile that makes my heart flutter. I nod my head, unable to contain my smile. He leans up, my heart was racing as he kept getting closer to my face. I closed my eyes as his lips touched mine, they were soft and gentle on mine.
"Sweet, sweet girl." He whispers into my lips, pulling me closer to him. I adjust myself on his lap, returning his soft kiss. Happy, that was the feeling that always seemed to overwhelm me when I was near Diego. This boy made my heart race yet scared the shit out of me at the same time.
"Diego," I whisper, pulling away from our kiss.
"Yes baby?" He says pulling me into his arms, so we wrapped in each other, my face stuffed in his neck and vice versa.
"Friends don't kiss." I mumble, hiding my face into him.
"Shh baby, but we do." He says, kissing my neck. "Now that we are good, I don't think Jessica is going to murder me."
"She wasn't really going to do anything to you Diego." I roll my eyes.
"Babe, you didn't not see the texts she sent, or the calls I got. She for real was ready to kill me for being an ass. Especially that day where we kind of chased you out of your house. The scathing voicemail I got was chilling." He chuckled, playing with my hair.
"Well hey, gotta love my Jess." I laugh, playing with Diego's curls at back of his neck.
"Not if she cuts my balls off baby." I roll my eyes as Diego starts placing soft kisses along my neck. I lean my neck to side to give him better access. "I missed you so much Melissa." He squeezes me closer.
"I missed you too Diego." I nuzzle my face into his neck. "So much, don't be a little shit again."
"For you, anything." He whispers. "Can I take you out tomorrow? Breakfast? Lunch? Dinner? Anything?" He rambles out, giving me a squeeze.
"Lunch, I want to do lunch." I smile, pecking his neck. "I want Veggie Grill. And don't you dare fight me on that."
"I wouldn't dream of it, I love Veggie Grill." He chuckles.
"Okay, lie to me again. You're against vegetables." I laugh, knowing Diego's diet consisted of McDonalds, and other fast food locations.
"I'll eat vegetables any day, every day for you." He laughs, pulling me away from him so he could give me a soft kiss on the lips.
Happy, that's all I could feel at the moment.
