Real Life
"Diego!" I whine waiting for him to finally get off my couch, so we could get my food.
"I don't want to get up baby." He whines, nuzzling his face into my shoulder, not letting me off the couch.
"I'm so hungry." I whine, getting slightly irritated and hungry. "Diego, I swear to fucking god." I groan as he continues to ignore me.
"Baby just postmates it, so we can stay like this." He mumbles. I roll my eyes, knowing postmates would AT LEAST take an hour, maybe more with LA traffic when there is a Veggie Grill around the corner from me.
"Diego, I swear to fucking god if I don't get something into me I will fucking kill you." I seethe feeling my stomach grumble.
"I can get into you." His head pops up, winking at me. If I wasn't so hungry and grumpy I would have thought it was funny or adorable but right now it was irritating as fuck.
"Diego." I say sternly, attempting to push his strangely heavy body. I end up smacking his head, slightly hard-not very hard just enough to get his attention.
"Fuck, fuck fine." He groans, rubbing his head. "You always get violent when you're hungry."
"Well if you could keep me happy and fed I wouldn't get violent, now would I?" I say, slipping my shoes on. I needed food, my stomach felt like it was eating itself.
"I can keep you happy in other ways baby." He smirks at me, fixing his beanie.
"Diego, I swear to god, you better get some food into me right now or I will kill you. No talking until I have food." I grumble, slipping a hoodie on and grabbing my keys. I was trying to rush Diego out of the house, the sooner we go the sooner I get food.
"Alright, alright." He puts his hands up, walking quickly to the door. "Let's go get you some food."
"Fucking finally." I smile, knowing I was about to get food lifted my mood.
"I'm so fucking happy right now." I smile, popping a fry into my mouth.
"I can see that lil baby." He chuckled, eating his burger.
"I don't feel like murdering you now." I smile at him, reaching over to take one of his cauliflowers.
"Diego!" I hear a girl's voice call. And soon enough I see Tana's bleached blonde hair walking towards us.
"Oh shit, Tana. Hi." Diego swallows his food, mumbling and getting up from his seat to give her a hug. I know we agreed to be friends or friendly, but I felt my stomach clench at the sight of them.
"Hey Tana." I say, giving her a smile.
"Hey Melissa, sorry I haven't had a chance to text you, shits been busy." She says to me, placing her arm over Diego's shoulder.
"No, it's okay. I totally understand." I smile at her.
"Well I just wanted to say hi, but Diego it was good to see you the other night. Text me later." She smiles and walks away. "Bye guys."
"Bye." I wave, feeling my heart clench at her words. I know Diego and I have barely started talking to each other but knowing he had been with her still somehow hurt.
"We weren't talking when I hooked up with her, it was during our space." He sputters out, avoiding eye contact. I swallow my pride and hurt and flash him a smile.
"It's okay Diego. We weren't talking, I understand." I successfully hide the hurt in my voice when he makes eye contact with me and gives me a hesitant smile.
"For real baby? You're not mad?" He asks, a smile on his face.
"No Diego. We aren't together, I can't have a say with who you fuck." I shrug, mentally slapping myself for not hiding my disdain as well.
"Baby, it doesn't matter if we aren't technically together, you're mine, I'm yours." He reaches across the table to hold my hands. My heart flutters at his words, knowing his words ring true to in my heart, but brain said that this was too much, too soon.
"Okay Diego. I'm yours, you're mine." I repeat, squeezing his hand. I hear a ding on my phone, and Diego motions for me to answer it. "It's Jess, she is having a party tonight, want to go?"
"Yeah, sounds good. As long as we go together." He smiles. Happy, with Diego that's all I could feel right now.
