Mac delivered my tea personally this morning. I had been awake, but wasn't moving too much yet. When I heard the rap at my door, I assumed it was Marina or Maddie, so I answered it in my jammies. Mac looked me up and down before winking with a grin and saying, "Morning, Sunshine."
Luckily, I had on cute yellow shorts and a pale yellow cami. I would hate to have thrown open the door wearing some of my more scraggly looking pj's to find Mac standing on the other side of the threshold. I still probably looked frightful, with my hair poking out in every direction and no makeup, but he beamed at me like I was as pretty as could be. I had at least brushed the morning fur off my teeth. Thank goodness for small favors.
He asked if I wanted to go on a little adventure with him today. How could I possibly say no to that? So, he said he'd wait on the dock while I got ready. I took the fastest shower ever and fluffed and puffed myself until I was presentable.
I found him fishing off the dock with Maddie. The child's laughter echoed down the canal, making me quite certain that the two weren't actually catching anything. I sat down to watch them, marveling at the fact that Mac seemed to always be able to find enjoyment in whatever he was doing. I wonder if the Keys are his only place to relax and have fun or if he brings this laissez-faire island attitude into his business life as well. It would be interesting to see him in that environment. He must have a serious, tough side to have become so successful. He never really seems to want to talk about his business. Maybe this is his escape from it all, and he doesn't want his two worlds to intermingle.
My focus shifted from pondering his executive lifestyle to seriously studying his tight buns. I can't be held responsible for the naughty turn that my thoughts took, though. After all, the man does have an unbelievably hot backside.
After Mac helped Maddie release the small fish she caught, we hopped into his Jeep to set off on our adventure. I didn't even bother to ask where we were going, and honestly, I didn't care.
He headed north, and we drove up to the Everglades. He was shocked when he learned that I had lived in the area for three years, but had never made the trek up here. We chartered an airboat, and our guide zoomed us over the water, pointing out herons and alligators along the way.
When our boat suddenly stopped out in what seemed like the middle of nowhere, I almost had a panic attack. Our young guide radioed for help, but he seemed almost as nervous as I felt, although he valiantly attempted to hide his fear. The only one who truly remained calm was Mac. He asked our guide if he could take a look, and the young boat driver couldn't hide the relief in his eyes as he gladly took Mac up on the offer. Mac tinkered with the engine for a few minutes and even used the shoestring from his loafer for something before telling our guide to 'turn her over.' The airboat hummed to life and ran beautifully for the rest of our tour.
I still can't believe that he fixed our boat with a shoestring. It felt like something straight out of an episode of MacGyver. Is there anything that man can't do? I really don't think so.
As soon as we got back, I scurried to the ladies' room. When I returned, Mac had bought me a beautiful sterling silver and turquoise necklace from the gift shop, which he placed around my neck.
We ate a delicious fried lunch from a food truck as we chatted with the other tourists. No one we saw would have guessed that they were talking to a billionaire. Mac is one of the most down-to-earth, unpretentious men I have ever met.
He bought pictures of us each holding a baby alligator. I was making a silly, cringing face in mine, but Mac said I looked cute. He, of course, looked handsome as a devil in his. He kept the picture of me, and I wondered what he would do with it. Would it go in his office? Or maybe he would put it in his bedroom? I decided to place the picture of him on my desk at work.
