I decided that since I would be contacting Tom out of the blue that it might be better to email him rather than call. The email would allow him time to process before responding, unlike a telephone call that would catch him completely off guard.
I had spent most of last Sunday (even when I was at work...shhhh!) composing the perfect email to send him. I introduced myself and told him that I thought he and Glinda should talk because they could both probably give each other some much-needed closure. I didn't want to share too much with him about Glinda's current life, but I let him know that the ordeal still weighed heavily on her mind. Since he was the only person who knew exactly how she felt, I told him that I was hopeful that he could help her forgive herself.
I had anticipated an immediate response, but still haven't heard from him, even though it's been over a week. I wonder if the message went into his spam folder and he didn't see it? Or maybe he thought I was some kind of scam artist? I don't want to consider the possibility that he just isn't interested in speaking to Glinda again. Even if he's married, shouldn't he want to talk to her and make sure that she's doing okay?
It's starting to really stress me out that he hasn't responded. I'm so glad that I didn't tell Glinda that I was contacting him. She would probably be devastated that he hadn't even bothered to answer my message. I think I'll give him a while longer, and then I'll call him. I can't just leave this hanging. I tried to give him time to absorb my news by email, but since that isn't working, it might be time to start thinking about an ambush call.
