I think Marina is almost as excited about my date as I am. She's concerned too, though, because nobody seems to know who this man is. He has the biggest yacht in the harbor, and he carries the elusive black Club member card. You'd think all the employees would know him, but we can't find anyone who does. I might actually have to ask him his name on our date. How embarrassing.
We spent the day today shopping in the trendy Coconut Grove outdoor shopping area in Miami. We found a gorgeous hot pink cocktail dress that actually makes me look like I have cleavage. I cleared out the rest of my savings to get some cute jeweled sandals to match the dress, and Marina indicated that she has a perfect necklace that I can borrow to complete the look. I'm worried that it might be too much, but Marina has promised that I will knock his socks off.
It's all I can do to keep from trying on the dress and twirling in front of the full-length mirror hanging on the back of my bathroom door. I don't want to take a chance on mussing it up, though. The dress is tucked away in a bag in my closet, waiting patiently for Friday to roll around.
As I had suspected, Marina went back to Frank. I'm trying not to judge. I just want her to be happy, but I wish she wouldn't settle for someone who cheats on her. We didn't talk about it much on our shopping excursion. I think she's slightly embarrassed that I know she puts up with his indiscretions. I don't think any less of her. I do, however, think much less of him. I don't see any point on commenting on that to her, though. I don't want to upset her any more than she already is.
I'm so excited for Friday to get here that I'm about ready to burst!
