Cassidys POV

"So, what are you girls doing today?" Mom says looking up from the breakfast she was eating

"Not su-"

"We are going to go to an abandoned place to film for Cass's YouTube channel. I know how that makes you happy" Rosey interrupts me as she gives me a genuine smile.

"Oh... ok. I guess we are doing that"

"Well great! Just don't get hurt or caught" Mom smiles at us both

"Can I come!" Josh pipes up while he walks downstairs

"Hmm, I'm not so sure that's a good idea Josh" Dad says

"Awww please!" He begs

"We can look after him dad" Rosey smiles

"Alright, but as long as you really look out for him" dad says eye balling us both from across the kitchen

"We willlllll!" Rosey drags out as she gets up and begins walking off

"I mean it girls! He's a lot younger than you!"

"Yeah yeah! Come on Joshy" Rosey smiles grabbing Josh's hand "let's go get you ready"

I seperate from those two as they walk into Josh's room. I walk into my own room and grab my back pack.

My phone was still blowing up from Crystals concerned texts. But this week was about getting away from my problems, not worrying about them over texts.

I started packing my things into my back pack for the day.

Alright I have my phone... check, my headphones... check, flashlight in case it's dark inside... check, pepper spray in case there creeps are there... check, and vlogging camera because I'm a badass YouTuber... check!

I was pumped up to go. If there was anything that made me happy, it was exploring abandoned places.

In school, history always excited me. I was always ready to learn about it.

"Hey, Joshy is ready to go. You ready?" Rosey says popping her head into my room

"Yeah, let's go!"

It was about an hour drive to the abandoned place. Even though Rosey didn't tell me what the building was, I was still excited.

"Was is this place?" I say stunned, looking up at the huge building covered in layers of rotting materials.

"It used to be a hospital" she says grabbing Joshs hands firmly

I pulled out my camera and started recording

"Hey guys, so today I'm with my Sister Rosey and my brother Josh. And we're here at an abandoned hospital. Wanna give some history Rose." I say handing the camera to Rosey as we walk in the gapping hole that was the doors.

"Alright, so... this place was used a lot during world war 2, and because of the amount of American soldiers they were flying back here with injuries, it got so crowded, they were actually pushing patients into the hallway in their beds. So long story short, the government shut the place down because there was so many patients and not enough staff, that there was a lot of neglect" she finishes before handing the camera back to me.

****

We have been filming around the building for about three hours now. And not much has happened. It was getting a bit late so we decided to head home.

"So guys hope you enjoyed. If you did give this video a thumbs up and I'll see you next time... byeeee!" I say before shutting my camera off and resting my head on the headrest.

I was in the passenger, Rosey was driving and Josh was in the back.

"So, did you like exploring today Josh?" I say looking at his giant grin on his face

"Yeah! I think I wanna become a YouTuber like you when I grow up Cass" he says excited more than ever

I smile to myself.

This positivity is what I need right now. The family time is also what I need. Because I certainly ain't getting the family vibe back in Los Angeles.

We arrive home and Mom and Dad greet us

"Hey guys, how was your trip?" Mom says waving as we pull in the driveway.

"It was so awesome! We had so much fun! Thank you for letting me go Mom!" Josh yells as he climbs out of the car and runs to give Mom a hug.

She gives a brief smile then pays attention to Rosey and I.

"So, you get any good footage Cass?"

"Yeah, quite a bit. I'm gonna head upstairs and edit"

"Will we see you for dinner?" Mom yells as I walk off.

"Yeah!" I yell back

Roseys POV

"Yeah!" Cass yells back as she walks inside

"Rose" Mom whispers just as I was about to walk off

"Yeah?"

"Is she... stable?"

"Yeah I think she is. She seemed pretty happy today"

"Ok. And you don't think she's gonna try and hurt herself do you?"

"I'm not sure, it's kinda hard to tell. But all round, I don't think she will"

"Ok. Keep an eye on her babe. You're the one she trusts the most" she smiles and hugs me as I walk off inside.

I was actually worried about Cassidy. She seemed happy, but every now and again, her true emotion shines through her eyes, and for that brief second, I can see right through her lies. She wasn't happy, she wasn't sad, she wasn't pissed. She was just... empty.

It was heartbreaking to see her like this. Heartbroken. Raw. Empty.
