"Megan, Kate take this. Check it out." Gibbs tells us handing me a piece of paper with an address. We both grab our guns and badges and make our way to the address.

"Is this it?" I ask as we pull up to what looks to be an abandoned gas station.

"Yeah, the petty officers father owned the place." Kate tells me.

We walk up to the house and both pull out our guns, I knock on the main door and shout that we are federal agents. We bust open the door which is easier said then done.

"You go that way, I'll go this way." I say snaking around the aisles of the shop.

"Clear!" I call after coming out from behind the register which is when I realise that I haven't heard Kate call anything yet. I quietly continue to scout out the place and that's when I come across the back room.

"DROP THE WEAPON!"I shout at a guy who had Kate's gun in his hand pointing it at her head with a hand over her mouth.

"You shoot me andI'll shoot your friend." He tells me.

"Isn't going to happen. Drop the gun!  This place will be surrounded by cops in minutes, put the gun down and you might not go to jail." I reply.

"You pull out a phoneor even move, I shoot." He threatens.

I rack my brain trying to think of what I should do, wound him and run the risk he kills us. Kill him run the risk he does the same. He was using Kate to block most of his body but I could probably get a head shot. I move my finger closer to the trigger and kate nods as if to tell me to do it.

*BANG*

The pain seares through my arm as I stumble backwards and drop my gun. I am quick to pick it up before the shooter gets a chance.

"I did warn you, next time it won't just be an injury, she'll be dead." He says placing the gun back next to Kate's head.

His phone starts ringing and he gets a little distracted, the gun's still by Kate's head but he isn't watching us.

"I only had one bullet left, take the shot." Kate whispers to me.

I take a shot at his forehead but he moves out of the way and fires the gun and then runs. I chase after him and manage to trip him ripping his mask away but he makes a quicker recovery then me and is off. I run back into the office and see Kate slumped on the floor bullet straight throughher head. This wasn't supposed to happen, he wasn't supposed to have any bullets. I take out my phone and call Gibbs.

"Megan what've you got?" Gibbs answers.

"Kate's dead." I reply bluntly before hanging up and sitting next to her on the floor. I knew I couldn't move her but I also couldn't leave her.

"Gibbs will be here soon and Ducky, he'll look after you." I say talking to Kate.

I must have been sat there for 20 minutes or so before a whole host of people arrived. First there was Ducky and Jimmy in the medical examiners van and then Gibss, Tim and Tony in their van along with Local police, an ambulance and the director of NCIS.

"Oh Dear old Kate what happened here?" Ducky questions.

But i don't attempt to say a word or move an inch. He's honestly pretty good at working around me jabbering on as he usually would. Tony's snapping pictures which for some reason makes me angry.

"Stop it." I say turning around and pushing him away as he stumbled backwards. Which is when I see everyone stood watching Kate.

"Stop It! Stop staring at her! Stop it!" I shout becoming angry.

"Megan. Megan focus on me." I hear Gibbs say as he stands in front of the gang. I look up at him but I'm still glaring at the others as they stand behind him.

"Lets get you checked over. Everyone out." Gibbs calls, there is a few moans from people around him.

"I said everyone out until my medical examiner is finished." Gibbs shouts and everyone sheepishly makes there way outside. Me and Gibbs are the last to leave, leaving only Ducky, Jimmy and Kate inside.

I walk over to the ambulance with Gibbs at my side and take a seat as they check me over.

"What the hell happened?" The director asks as the local police stand near by clearly listening in.

*I hear the gunshot go off again in my head *

"Don't tell me you left her alone" I hear and spin round to see Tony stood behind me.

"Enough with the questions. I'm going to take her to hospital get her looked over thoroughly." Gibbs tells me.
