I'm on my laptop when suddenly the screen goes black and a message pops up.

|| You have 24hrs to pay 100k or she dies||

the message popped up with an image of Laura. I scooped my laptop off the desk and ran straight up to Leon's office. I didn't bother to knock and just ran straight in.

"Special agent Brown knocking might have been more appropriate." Leon sighs as he sits at a table with some important looking people.

"Sorry but I need your help." I say turning my laptop so that he could see it.

"Right, get Gibbs up here and we will come up with a strategy." He tells me before turning back to his company and asking them to wait outside.

Gibbs is soon in the room and we are working on a plan, Tim is going to try and see where the email was sent from and I'm going to get in touch with and try and plan a drop.

I was sat combing through the car park footage once again, The drop was planned for 1pm which was in about 4 hours so I had plenty of time while Leon found away of even getting the money. I was looking at the days of the next week which was last week. That's when I noticed Laura's blue Mini in the parking lot. I quickly ran the plate which told us it was in fact hers. I managed to comb through the CCTV and see when she left the shop. She stopped to talk to a man and then the screen went black, skips 2 hours but Laura's Mini is still there.

I took the footage to Abby who after a while managed to find Nate's car leaving on another traffic camera. It looks like he has changed the plates but a weird bumper sticker gives it away. We follow the car on traffic cameras but get lost when he turns right onto a street with no cameras however Tim had managed to analyse the photo of Laura which gives away a detail of her location.

"Right we are looking for a farm, the feed bags in the background show their supplier to be HeygurtsFeeds." Tim tells us.

"I can pull up a list of their clients and narrow it down." I reply.

I call up the company who email over their list of clients. I went through and narrowed it down to a few farms with in a few miles of Nates house and the shop. I looked into the background of each farm and the third one Eastwood farm was owned by Michael Eastwood who is the father of Cathy Eastwood who went to school with Nate and Hayley.

Me tell Gibbs of my findings and we immediately go out to the farm whole team in tow. We get to the run down looking farm which has multiple barns and outside buildings. We look into a few of them which are empty and seem to be for the animals. Then Gibbs notices a man leaving a small shed over the other side. We hide, and make our way over to the shed he came from. Me and Gibbs go inside whilst Tim and Tony go to arrest him.

The door is padlocked we manage to hammer it off which alerts the man from before. I open up the door and the sight of what I found inside will haunt me forever. My step mother laid lifeless on the floor, hands and feet tied together, bruises covering her arms and face. He clothes had multiple different stains all across them. Gibbs bent down and took a pulse whilst I stood staring unable to move or comprehend what was going on.

"Megs she has a pulse, quick call an ambulance." Gibbs tells me.

I fumble around in my pockets eventually finding my phone and calling the ambulance. I then hand the phone over to Gibbs who is putting her in the recovery position and doing everything they tell him too. Thankfully it isn't long before the ambulance arrives and the paramedics take over.

Gibbs and I go outside to see Tim and Tony hauling the man across the fields looking worse for wear. We watch as they walk him towards the car, after a minute or so the suspect catches me out of the corner of his eye.

"This is all your fault, You and your father. You deserve this for what you did to my sister. Your dad, he killed my sister." The man who I am now assuming is Nate Kingsley shouts at me.

Tim and Tony shove him in the back of the car and then the paramedics bring Laura out of the barn and down to the ambulance which me and Gibbs ride to the hospital in. We sit waiting for what seems like hours when the doctors finally come through with some news.

"We have managed to stabilise your step mother, she had been drugged so we are just waiting for the drugs to leave her system and then she should be fine to go home provided there is someone with her." The doctor tells me.

"Can I go and see her?" I ask.

"Of course." he replies.

I walk into the room to see Laura looking a lot more alert then she had previously. The cuts on her face had been cleaned and she was into a fresh hospital gown.

"Feeling any better?" I asked the obligatory stupid question.

"A little bit." She mumbles.

"Aiden's in protective custody with agent Dornegate so he is safe." I tell her.

"Thank you." She replies.
