Thirty Eight

"Bea."

It's the nth time that Miguel called for Bea but the latter is lost on her thoughts.

She's been staring at Kianna's picture since the start of her friend's burial.

"Bea." He called again.

Now, he was succesful to caught her attention.

"Let's eat." He offered his hand.

Bea shook her head. "Hindi pa ako gu.."

"No, Bea. We are eating. Hindi ka pa kumakain simula kahapon."

"Miguel." Bea pleaded.

"Bea, hindi magugustuhan ni Kianna 'yang ginagawa mo sa sarili mo."

Bea as hard headed as she is, stayed on her spot and stared at her friend's picture again.

"Ang daya mo naman, Bud. Hindi pa ako nakakabangon kay Maddie eh tapos eto ka.." She started to cry again.

Meanwhile, Miguel can't do anything but let Bea do what she wants.

"Ayaw pa rin?" Tyler asked Miguel.

Miguel stared at Tyler. It's the first time since their mission that the little guy had approached him.

Sa tingin niya, sinisisi ito ng konti sa pagkamatay ni Kianna.

"Ayaw eh. Ikaw nga kumausap baka makinig na."

They looked at Bea.

"Hayaan mo na lang muna." Tyler said. "Things are hard for her. Ang magagawa lang natin ngayon is to let her feel the pain then we'll help her get through it."

"Sana kayanin niya." Miguel said.

"Isabel."

Nagulat ang dalawa sa bagong dating na bisita ni Bea.

"Sino siya?" They both asked.

"Mika." Bea acknowledged.

Dalidaling lumapit si Mika kay Bea at niyakap ito.

"Mika? Mika Reyes? Siya ata yung kabatch ni ate Bea sa agency then bigla na lang nawala. No one knew kung anong nangyari sakanya."
Tyler recalled.

"And now she's here." Miguel said as both of them stare at Mika and Bea.

On a dark room, Bea woke up, feeling pain in every part of her body.

"Where am I?" She whispered ang looked up a window which is the only source of light.

"Gising ka na pala, Isabel." A girl with a familiar voice for Bea said.

"M.. Mika? What are you doing here?" Lumingon lingon siya sa kung asan siya.

"Anong ginagawa ko dito? Ano nanamang kailangan mo sa'kin?" She asked.

"Hindi ako kaaway dito, Isabel."

Bea chuckled. "Of course, hindi nga ikaw naging rason kung bakit wala na si Maddie ngayon eh. Kung hindi lang sana.."

"Pinagsisisihan ko lahat ng iyon, Isabel at maniwala ka sa'kin, wala akong kinalaman sa nangyari."

"And you want me to believe that?! Nawala ka after that happened. Ni hindi man lang nabigyan ng hustisya si Maddie!" Bea angrily said.

"Lumayo ako kasi one way or the other sinisisi ko rin ang sarili ko sa nangyari kay Maddie." Lumapit siya kay Bea but Bea was quick to move away.
