Fourty One

She saw her down at the end of another rally.

Hay nako, yang landing mo talaga. Bea thought.

She saw her get up and smiled to her teammates.

"Sorry sorry." Jho apologized after another attack fault.

"Bawi, Jho."  Her teammates encouraged.

She saw her mask her game face on as another rally is about to start.

Focus. Breathe.

She saw her glimpse at her back anticipating someone, a particular someone, smiling at her.

She smiled sadly as she know what the other is imagining.

She saw her disappointment when she saw no one in that spot.

She saw her longingness.

Bea, choosing her heart over her mind, visited her old teammates and watched them afar and in disguise.

Well, it wasn't for her teammates obviously, she just can't fight her longingness to see this particular person she's been staring at for 2 hours now.

"Jia!" Jho shouted.

Jia set the ball to Jho but the blockers were in position to block her.

Napailing na lang si Jho after that failed attack.

Cheer up, big girl. Bea whispered.

She sure misses playing but she misses more having little interactions with Jho when they're playing.

They both cheer each other up when one is not on her game that's why the court has never been the same for Jho with Bea's absence.

"Sorry talaga." She apologized again.

"Itira mo lang, Jho!" Her teammates cheered for her.

Jho nodded and signed 'isa pa' to Jia.

Pumayat siya. Hindi nanaman siguro ito nagbebreakfast. Bea thought.

Another rally started, Jho received the ball and Jia catched it perfectly.

Bigay mo kay Jho, Ji.

Jia set the ball to Jhoana who made a point with her monster attack.

Ayan ngumiti na. Bea said when Jhoana celebrated the point.

Mas maganda kasi kapag nageenjoy ka lang.

Mas maganda sana kung andito ka.

Jhoana thought as she went on the service line to prepare for the next rally. She stared at the ball before serving it.

Bea laughed. Yung pilantik talaga, she thought.

Bea stayed not being noticed at the sidelines.  Napailing na lang siya and clutched her heart.

When will you stop? When will this stop?

After Jho's training, Bea stayed as a shadow until Jho's back at the dorm.

Para akong tanga. Gusto ko na itigil yung 'kami' pero sinusundan ko naman siya sa kung saan siya pupunta.

Napailing siya.

She was about to go home when she saw a guy who's like observing the girls. She find it strange that's why she stayed and observed the guy.

Nakita niyang kinuha ng lalake ang phone nito at parang may tinatawagan.

Nilapitan ito ni Bea nang dahan dahan.

"Kasama ni Therese ang kapatid niya. Mukhang kasama na rin ito sa volleyball team." She heard the guy say.
