I opened my eyes and see Max laying at a wide cherry blossom tree smiling wildly.
"Matt!" I scream running to him and he embraces me with open arms.
I squeeze him tightly because I know when I let go he'll be gone.
"Hi Sunshine." He greets and I cry a little more.
I look up at him to see that those beautiful blue eyes are more vibrant. Like the color of the sky.
"Matt I miss you." I cry and he only wipes my tears.
"Its OK. I'll always be there for you. But its OK to move on." He tells me and I squeeze him again.
"No I can't. I can't love someone else. I can never stop loving you." I cry into His chest.
"Im not asking you to stop but you're hearts big enough for two." He tells me kissing my head.
I sit up in my bed, tears still in my eyes. I almost instantly started to cry. I missed him.
It had been almost three years since Matt and every night I dream of him. Every morning I blame myself.
If I would have never left. If I would stayed maybe he wouldn't have died. Or I would have died too so we could be together.
I was a doctor for crying out loud. I should have some something. Done anything.
I slowly slide out my bed and head to the kitchen to make me some coffee, before going to shower.
I sit on the couch watching the rain fall. I think about his laugh. His smile. His voice.
It was moments like this I missed him the most.
I touch the necklace he had gotten me, with the sun and slowly rub it.
I think back to him singing that song.
You are my sunshine.
A tear falls down my face and I wipe it away.
I hear knocking on my door and I smile. I stand up and walk to the door.
When I open it there's a guy standing there with a little boy. The man held a umbrella and the boy wore a duck covered poncho.
"Jamie." The man turns to the boy and he looks up at me.
"Hi I'm a boy scout and I'm selling tickets to a fair to get a badge. If I get this bag I'll move up to become a squall scout." The six year old says and I smile.
"Oh really." I look up at the man who was no older then twenty and he gives me a slight plea with his eyes.
"OK how much is a ticket?" I ask and he smiles.
"Twenty five dollars." He says and I sigh before pulling out my wallet.
I hand him a twenty and a five and he smiles before handing me a ticket thar read,
'Chipmunk scouts annual fair.' I smile.
"Come on Jay we have to find more people." He says running over to Matt's old apartment.
"Oh it's vacant." I say and he stops looking at the door.
"Oh." He says and I blush.
"Mom's waiting on us so lets head home." Jay tells the boy and he smiles.
"Yay, moms making tacos!" The boy cheers.
"Thanks. You don't know what this means to him. We've been out here two days." He says with a light smile..
