Can We Create Something Beautiful

Chapter 2

The boys all had huge smiles on their faces when they saw that I recognized them. We walked over to the side counter to wait for our drinks and Vic was trying to make small talk but I just blurted out..

"Your guy's show isn't for 3 days, why are you here?!" I was so confused as to why any band would want to spend time in this stupid little city.

"Well," Vic started, "we heard that this area is nice to relax in, plus there's an ocean so we can just sit on the sand a chill."

"Yeah, this place is totally cool! Accept, were still a little lost." Mike said smirking at me.

"Maybe I could show you around sometime" I laughed at the idea.

We all grabbed our drinks and went to a table in the corner of the shop. I was just enjoying my drink, and smiling at the boys talking about silly things that were happening on their tour when Mike looked at me and asked, "Shouldn't you be at school right now," glancing at the time on his phone, "or are you already out? Wait you can't be that old, how old are you?"

I didn't really feel like telling them about school so I just said, "Yeah I, um, should be at school, but I'm taking the afternoon off, oh and I'm 16."

Vic looked at me with concern in his eyes, like he could see right through me, but thankfully he seemed to let it go.

"Oh cool!" Jaime said, "so that means you can take us to the beach right!?"

Everyone chuckled at Jaime's excitement.

Tony looked at me with a smile on his face and said, "This one hasn't shut up about the beach since he searched up 'things to do in Victoria'" Tony gently nudged Jaime in the side laughing.

"Is it a bad thing that I want to have fun on our few days off?!" Jaime said while laughing and poking Tony back.

I looked around the table and noticed that everyone had just about finished their drinks and offered, "I could take you guys now, if you want."

Everyone started smiling at each other and Jaime's eyes lit up as they all simultaneously yelled "BEACH PARTY!!"

We gathered our things and started walking to the beach. Jaime was skipping ahead of all of us singing. Once we got to the beach all the boys rolled up their pants and started walking in the water. I just sat on a log remembering what I had done just before I met the boys. My stomach was in so much pain from the cuts. I noticed a bathroom nearby and walked to it. I lifted my shirt to reveal that some of the cuts were bleeding again. Fuck. The paper in the bathroom was horrible so I just sucked it up and pulled my shirt back down. Even though this was my favourite PTV shirt, it was black and a bit of blood wouldn't ruin it. I left the bathroom to find Jaime burying Mike in a pile of sand and Vic videotaping the whole thing. Tony was sitting on the log to I thought I would join him.

"How do you feel about turtles?" Tony asked.

"I think their cool. I love the fact that they have shells and can just hide whenever."

I listened to Tony talk on and on about turtles for a bit longer but I lost focus when I looked over to Vic to find him staring at me.

~Vic's POV~

I couldn't help but stare at Jenna. She was just so beautiful. I really wanted to talk to her about school because I just couldn't help but feel that something was wrong. Just the way she said 'I'm just taking the afternoon off' didn't seem right. When I looked in her eyes at that time they looked so sad. I need to know why.

"Tony!" I called over to him, "stop boring Jenna with all that turtle talk and come over here to film these two nutballs!"

Tony got up muttering under his breath something about how turtle aren't boring. Once he took the camera I walked over to Jenna.

"Hey, um so, do you wanna go walk along the shore with me." I said sounding nervous.

"Yeah, sure" Jenna replied.

As we started to walk along the shore I took a minute of silence to gather my thoughts. I really needed to make sure she was okay but I wasn't too sure how to ask.

"Why didn't you want to go to school this afternoon?" I said almost too fast to understand, "I know that most people don't want to go to school but when you talked about it I couldn't help but notice how sad you looked."

"It's fine, I just didn't feel like going." Jenna replied looking off into the ocean, her voice brittle.

I stopped her from walking any further and turned her to face me. I took a hold of her wrists, looked into her eyes and said, "You can tell me the truth, it's okay. I know that it is not fine for you, I just want to help, maybe make you feel better." I stared deep into her eyes and that's when the first tear fell.

"I...I" Jenna tried to speak but nothing was coming out. She dropped onto her knees in the sand and just started crying. I couldn't stand seeing someone cry like that, so I sat down beside her and took her into my arms, trying to comfort her.

"shhhhh, shhh, it will be okay sweety" I whispered into her ear, "we don't have to talk about this now"

I said knowing that I would be bringing this up later.
