"Dad, why can't I go?" You begged, following him around the small cabin that was tucked away in the woods from true sight of the community.

"Because," He started, "You're too young to go to parties. Especially parties with boys at them, alright?"

You groaned in frustration. "But, Dad. Everyone is going! It's just a get together of some people-"

Hopper turned around and looked at you, his back now facing the small refrigerator that stood about four feet tall.

"I've told you my answer. Get ready for school. You don't want to be late."

You sulked your way back into the bedroom that smelled of old clothes and dirty sheets, grabbing your backpack and shutting the door behind you as you walked back into the den.

Hopper smiled at you, nudging you out the door before locking it and heading over to his car where you both climbed in.

"I just don't see the big deal. Dad, I'm not only a teenager but a police chief's daughter. I think I can handle myself." You stated, not letting go of the argument.

"I already told you my answer. No."

A groan slipped through your lips again as you turned to look out the window at the passing cars and trees. The landscape zipped past like a whirlwind and made you dizzy, demanding you to turn your head back to your dad.

Sure, he was probably right about how young you were about going to this party but you wanted to so badly. Everyone was going, including all of your best friends.

"My friends are going." You mumbled. Hopper turned to you, a stern look on his face with a hard-set jaw. You knew you weren't going.

"We'll talk about this later."

You sighed, grabbing your bag and hopping out of the car as you headed to the front of the school. You noticed someone out of the corner of your eye but didn't totally realize who it was until the stopped right in front of you.

"Hey, ___. You going to that party tonight?" Max asked, her red hair swinging across her shoulders as she stopped abruptly.

You sighed. "Uh, no, actually. My dad said I can't."

Max stared at you with a wide mouth. "Aw, come on! You have to persuade him!" You nodded in understanding but he was a stubborn man and most likely wouldn't budge.

"Come on. You know my dad, Max. Hell, everyone here does. It's not like he's easy to budge." You muttered, kicking a rock with your shoe.

Max just smiled. "Come on. Let's go to the AV room. We can conspire different ways for you to persuade him."

You snuck a sneaky smirk at her before joining her feet in time as you both shoved open the doors with your shoulders, heading down the hallway to the AV club room.

Mr. Clarke had continued the AV Club and you had joined after Max begged you to so she wouldn't be alone with the four guys. It was the start of a beautiful friendship, as cliche as it sounds.

Truth be told, that was honesty.

"Yeah, I honestly can't wait." You overhead Dustin say as Max opened the door and allowed you to walk inside before she followed, shuttling the door and locking it.

"Why'd you lock the door?" Will asked nervously.

Max shrugged. "Privacy, I guess."

Will looked uncertain still.

She sighed. "Troy can't penetrate the door, Will."

He nodded, keeping his eyes focused on it while Mike turned to you, a glimmer in his eye. You knew something about him was off to you but you weren't sure what.

"Hey, Mike. You good?" You asked, setting your backpack down at your feet as he just nodded.

"Yeah, I'm good. You going tonight?"

Max stepped in.

"If we can find a way to conspire against her Dad and let her go, then yes."

You shot her a smile, Lucas and Dustin both laughing while Mike stared with a smile on his face.

"Let's get started."
