"i cracked it!"

you, steve, and dustin all looked at each other before running to the back where robin was holding up the book in victory in one hand.

"what?" you asked her.

she smiled. "i cracked it, the code."

dustin smiled. "no way."

"you're smarter than i remembered," steve said. you nudged him hard in the rib, giving robin an apologetic smile.

"jesus, ____, i was just making a joke," steve said, holding his side. you chuckled, giving him a smile.

"yeah, yeah. man up, sailor boy," you said. robin and dustin laughed with you, only causing steve to roll his eyes.

when robin and dustin weren't looking, you placed a gentle kiss on his cheek. "hope that makes up for it."

steve shook his head, staring down at you.

"oh, no, i think i need more where that came from," he said. you bit your lip in anticipation.

"alright, lovebirds, come on. we need to figure out exactly how to get to this secret base or some shit," robin said.

dustin pointed to the vent above all of your heads.

"the vents would be the easiest way to navigate our way into that room where they kept all the boxes."

you turned to the front, hearing the obnoxious bell and the sound of little erica sinclair calling for another sample.

"robin?"

she shook her head, looking over towards the doors that allowed for no more privacy.

"i'm not going back out there. steve, it's your turn," she said, shoving him forwards.

you chuckled.

"well, go ask her."

he sighed, looking over at everyone. his eyes landed on you, growing soft with admiration before he exited the room and went to talk to erica.

"let's hope she can do this."

robin laughed. "oh, she can do it. the question is- will she want to?"
