Astrid's P.O.V.
"Woo...!" I cheered as the music blared in my ears. Hiccup took me to the bar I found my mom at and, relax, we were just dancing and having non-alcoholic drinks. Let me tell you, Hiccup was a dorky dancer. I raised my virgin Pina Colada to my lips and finished it off before slamming it on the counter. I felt a finger tap my shoulder and turned around to see Eret. "Eret! Oh my gosh!" I cheered as I jumped into his arms. He laughed as he spun me around.
"Hey, you're not drunk again, are you?!" he asked jokingly as he set me down.
"Nope, cause my babysitters here this time," I say, matching his joking tone.
"Would you like to dance?" he asked, raising his voice over the music.
"Oh, man. If only you'd been here an hour ago! We have to go soon," I tell him apologetically.
"Okay, that's cool. But hey, you still gotta text me! It's not cool to stand a guy up on an imaginary date that his mind conjured up so he could tell his friends he had plans for the weekend!" he says and I laugh before hugging him again and meeting Hiccup at the door.
"Who was that guy?" he asked as we walked out.
"Just a friend," I said quietly, trying to listen to the sudden eerie silence of the town. "Thanks, Hiccup. You have no idea how much I needed that," I said as I sank into the passengers seat of his car.
"Yeah, no problem. It was fun, you go there often?" he asks as he drives home.
"Not really. It was my moms hang out. I try to avoid places like that but I grew to like it there. I go like once a week," I say.
"When?" he asks in shock.
"You know Wednesday nights when I take an extra long run?" I ask drowsily, not realizing what I was saying.
"Are you serious?!" his voice was muffled in my tired ears but I could still hear the slight anger in his voice before I drifted into a peaceful sleep.
Morning.
My eyes ease open as a blow horn goes off next to my ear. I pause as the things screaming stops, everyone looking at me in confusion. Then, I grab Roy, who had blown the horn, by his wrist and drag him to the balcony. I flip him over the railing before holding onto his ankles and holding him there as he screamed. I grabbed some rope, that I kept out there, and tied one end around one of his ankles before dropping him and tightening the rope around the railing, letting him hang below the balcony. I dust my hands off and go back inside as he continues to scream, and everyone else leaves me to change. Once I'm dressed, I walk down stairs, seeing that Roy was in perfect view of the glass door in the living room that lead to the back yard. I waved to him as I headed for the kitchen. I grab a banana, ignoring everyone, and when I walk back through the living room, heading for the stairs, I see Roy trying to get my attention.
"Hey, Astrid! I'm kinda getting a head rush out here!" he called through the glass.
I ignored him as I walked upstairs and went back to my room. He was a few inches from the ground so I went to my room and grabbed my pocket knife. I pull him up a few feet before dropping him again, hearing him scream. Then, I cut the rope and tell him to bring it back up when he makes the trip. I drop my peal and it lands in the trash can that Hiccup kept by the door. Then I go back inside and lay on my bed, hoping to get a few more minutes of sleep. I shoot lasers from my eyes as Hiccup walks in. He freezes when he sees me. I let out a growl and he slowly backs out of my room, closing the door. Only when I hear the click of the door knob do I stop growling. I snuggle into the blanket as Stormfly curls up next to me.
Hiccup's P.O.V.
"What did you guys do to her?" I asked Astrid's friends when I walked into the kitchen.
"Nothing," Criss says quickly.
"Yeah, she was sleeping in, so all we did was wake her up with a blow horn," Marcy says before Joe smacked her upside the head. I stared at them with a blank expression.
"Welp, we're going to go to the Dragon Wing and hang out for a while, see ya," Roy says and they walk out the door. They don't even see if Astrid wants to come.
"Thank goodness!" a voice screams and I look to the stairs to see Astrid leaning on the railing. "They say they're staying for a week and then they stay for a month. I thought they'd never leave," she's about to go back upstairs, but I stop her with my next words.
"Astrid, it's been one night," I tell her and she freezes before slowly turning toward me with a look of death in her eye.
"I need some wood," she says before wobbling back upstairs and going to her room. I thought about following her, to make sure she didn't miss the wood and stab her skin, but then thought better of it. Then, Tony walks though the door and closes it behind him, looking cautious.
"Okay, where's Astrid? Still in her room?" he asks as he goes to the stairs.
"Uh, why?" I ask, wondering why he's still here.
"She needs to stay in there and lock her door," he says as I follow him up.
"What?" I ask.
"The guys are planning to re-enact when her dad tried to rape her," he says hurriedly. He's about to open her door but I grab his collar and pin him to the wall next to it.
"What?" I growl through clenched teeth.
"I'm here to warn her, if that makes a difference," he says quickly.
"It doesn't," I say, tightening my grip as my thumb moves toward a pressure point in his neck.
"Derek, Derek, Derek, come on. We both care for Astrid, right? If she goes through that again, she might have a break down. And trust me when I say: You cannot handle or help her during a break down," Tony says, his voice shaking slightly as my thumb started digging into his skin. I paused.
"Have you seen her during a break down?" I ask.
"Yup. And I don't want to see it again," he says. I release him and we storm into Astrid's room to see her calmly shaving a wooden bear on her bed. "Astrid, we're gonna lock you in your room for a little while, okay?" Tony says and he's about to dart out but I grab his collar before he can reach the door.
"What?" Astrid asks, confusion dancing in her voice.
"Your 'friends' are going to re-enact when your dad tried to rape you. Why didn't you tell me about that?" I asked, my voice uncharacteristically harsh.
"Uh, because it was in the past," she says, still carving the bear.
"Astrid, you left out a major detail about your life! And you don't tell me about it just because it's in the past?!" I was close to shouting.
"I didn't tell you because I didn't want you to think I was a slut, Hiccup!" she shouted.
"Oh no," Tony said nervously as the front door opens and closes. I shove him to the side before storming downstairs, meeting Roy half way.
"Hey, is Astrid still in her room?" he asks.
"Why?" I snap.
"Because we wanna talk to her," he says. I grab his collar in a rough fist before dragging him down stairs. I then usher the entire group out of my house.
"I don't want you guys coming here unannounced, or I'll call the cops, got it?" I said as Tony joined them on my porch. My voice was so threatening, they nodded before I slammed the door.
