I woke up pressed against a warm mass and feeling something wrapped around my arms. I was awake, but my eyes weren't open. I thought the mass was Stormfly so I cuddled and tried to pull her closer but she was really heavy. "Cut back on the cat food, baby," I murmur tiredly. I heard a soft chuckle before a gentle kiss is planted on my head.

"What are you dreamin', hon?" a voice asks quietly and I don't bother to answer as my brain slows down a tad more.

The person rubs my shoulder and sends goosebumps down my back, making me grunt in comfort as I snuggled into them more. I was about to fall asleep again, but my eyes opened themselves to show me that one of my legs was pulled up and spread across someone's abdomen. My other leg was twisted around theirs. What the heck?! I was about to see who was next to me but a hand grabbed the back of my neck and started massaging it. I accidentally let out a moan as their finger loosened a knot. I couldn't remember a lot of last night so I decided the person was Hiccup. Weird thing...I didn't really care. Just as long as he kept rubbing my neck like he was.

"Mm, what time is it?" I asked drowsily.

"Almost ten," he says and I let out a tired sigh.

He sounded wide awake and I wondered how long he's just been sitting here, possibly watching me sleep. I rolled my head in a stretch and he released my neck. I rolled it a bit more violently before leaning to the side, over his chest slightly as I ran my fingers through my hair, scratching my head a few times. My eyes squint against the light as I tilt my head up to look at him.

"Hey," he says gently, his lips formed in a smirk.

"Hi," I greet with equal softness. Then, he gently cupped my face and slowly connected our lips. I paused before kissing him back. We break the kiss and just stare into each other's eyes for a minute. They were so soft and there was a thought in his head that I wanted to decipher but couldn't. "What was that for?" I asked, breaking the comfortable silence. I wanted to stay in it but I had to know.

"I don't know," he says after pausing.

"Was it to soften the blow of you kicking me out?" I ask and he chuckles softly.

"Far from it," he says. I grunt before rolling to the edge of the bed and stretching. "Aw...," Hiccup whined as I stood up. I looked at him in confusion. "I was comfy," he says childishly and I rolled my eyes.

"I have stuff to do," I tell him and he smirks.

"Like what? Run?" he asks as I lift my arm and stretch it down my back.

"Uh, through the forest, yeah," I say.

"Alright, I'll fix you some breakfast before you go," he grunts as he stands up and walks to the door.

"Uh, no, it's bad to run on a full stomach," I tell him.

"Then I'll get a water bottle for you," he says and walks out before I can protest. I brush my hair and put it in a pony tail before changing into my running clothes. I then went down stairs and paused outside the kitchen when I heard Hiccup on the phone. "Exactly what I said: I'm dropping out!" he said forcefully. "What's that supposed to mean?... Well, she was gonna find out anyway, so you'll be saving my breath... You think I haven't thought of that?... Listen, I don't care what I loose, I'm not going to falsely lead her on anymore. She's been through enough in her life without this added onto everything! Do you know what her friends are like? She got abuse from her parents, sure, but she hung out with her group every day and they are some of the worst people I've had the displeasure of meeting. I don't wanna be one of them... Listen Snot. Someday, you're going to make a bet against some girl and you're going to fall in love. And when that happens, then you can make fun of me, but until then, you can just shut your yak hole about whether you think I'm a wimp or not. Because you don't know what it's like for the perfect girl to be sleeping in the room right next to yours, and not being able to tell her how you feel. And you can't tell her, because you're scared that you're just gonna scare her away. Scared that she's not gonna believe you worth two laps around the gym. Scared about her mental health. My point is, you don't know what it's like. It's tearing me up inside and I can't take it anymore! It started as a way to get an easy 300 bucks but then it turned into more. I got to know the girl that we actually went to school with! It wasn't an easy 300..." I stopped listening after that. Instead, I ran out the door and jumped down the steps before shooting for the forest. I had a feeling deep in my gut that he was talking about me.
