Sometimes It's Easy To Pretend That You Don't Care, Than To Admit It's Killing You.

Nova awkwardly sits in Chris's trampoline chair, staring at the blank screen in front of her. Never had she ever felt so awkward and embarrassed in her life.

Chris was still in the bathroom doing lord knows what, he'd been in there for at least ten minutes.

She refused to sit back on that bed, so her next choice was either the trampoline chair or the beanbag chair. So she got all her things and moved onto the floor; she was hoping Chris didn't question her.

Nova had never wanted to leave his house this much until now.

Chris walks out the bathroom, with a pair of basketball shorts on instead of sweatpants. His hair was wet due to the shower he had just taken.

Nova feels his presence coming into the room, but her eyes stay glued to the computer screen.

"So you just gone sit there and look all awkward?" Chris questions moving into his prior position on the bed. Nova looks up from her computer screen, and gives him a quick stare before going back to the computer screen.

"I'm not being awkward....I'm continuing my search of the future." Nova mumbles clicking the top of her pen and writing down the number to one of the colleges.

"What the search of the future?" Chris ask, genuinely interested and also trying to make conversation.

Nova blows a breath of air out before beginning to talk.

"Exactly what I said...the future, mine to be specific. I'm seeing what colleges I'm interested in; I think I'm gonna start sending transcripts and scholarships in at Thanksgiving." Nova explains clicking her pin against her pink bottom lip.

"Where you wanna go to college?" Chris ask. He lays on his stomach towards the end of the bed, just so that he could be closer to her.

Nova purses her lip before pushing one of her loose curls, that were supposed to be up in a bun, behind her ear.

"It's between San Diego School of Medicine, San Francisco School of Medicine, or Stanford University School of Medicine. Those three are my main focus, but of course there's always other ones just in case I don't get accepted into those." Nova says reading her list of colleges, specifically the one's with stars beside them.

Chris nods, finding an interest in the sudden conversation. He didn't plan on going to college, but was still interested on Nova's input on the subject.

"Which one are you most interested in?" Chris ask.

"Definitely San Francisco School of Medicine, UCSF. First off it's the number one medical school in the United States, the requirement GPA is at least a 3.20....in which I have a 4.4. The school honestly has so much to offer, plus my record matches up with all their requirements." Nova says just thinking about it. She was so excited to go to college, something about it just excited her.

"Damn. So all the schools are in Cali?" Chris ask. Nova nods her head with a slight shrug of her shoulders.

"It's really not that far. Only three hours by plane; I honestly don't wanna be in this environment anymore." Nova says, doodling on the side of her notes. "What about you? College or no?" Nova ask crossing her left leg over her right.
