"You Are Perfect Exactly As You Are. With All Your Flaws And Problems, There's No Need To Change Anything. All You Need To Change Is The Thought That You Aren't Good Enough." - J. Cole

Nova sits with her legs crossed, closely paying attention to the physics lesson that was being taught. This was it; it was finally finals week, the week that really determined her future. Wednesday and Thursday were the two days all her studying and hard work from this semester, and past years of high school, would finally pay off.
The nerves she thought she would be feeling surprisingly weren't there, she knew she had these test in the bag. She was one of the smartest students in her county district....this would be a piece of cake. Well, that's what she was hoping.
A small smile shined upon her face just thinking about what the future held; there was only five months of school left and everything would be just how she wanted it. When she gets selected to her wanted college, she'll be out in Los Angeles living life to the best potential. A fresh start from all the people that made her teen years miserable, the people who added to her suffering- Oh how she couldn't wait to escape from all of it.
Just five more months Nova.
The lunch bell rung as students rushed up from their seats, not caring or bothering to listen to the teachers last few remarks.
"And don't forget, your final exam will be on Thursday..." The teacher speaks to the two or three people, which included Nova, who actually bothered to stay to hear her words. Nova shot the teacher a friendly smile while packing her things up and calmly walking out the classroom and making her way to the lunch room.
Nova stepped into the loud cafeteria, walking to the table that contained her buds. She shortly arrived at the table with a smile, which soon dropped seeing Mackenzie sitting in the seat everyone knew Nova sat in. If Nova was to sit on the right of her, she still wouldn't be beside Chris since Mackenzie was sitting in the middle chair. It's not like Nova could sit anywhere else and still have Chris sit beside her since the whole table was filled up except for the two seats on each side of Mackenzie.
Kayla looks at Nova's expression and rolls her eyes, making the gun symbol with her hands and shooting herself. Nova lets out a low chuckle at the action before reluctantly sitting beside Mackenzie.
"Heh Nov Nov." Mackenzie speaks with a gleaming smile on her face. The conversation the two girls had in the bathroom played in Nova's head as she put on a forced smile and turned to Mackenzie.
"Hey Kenzie." Nova says.
"How are you?" Mackenzie ask, trying to make conversation.
"Uh good, you?" Nova ask with a weird expression.
"I'm doing perfect! Schools going great, my birthdays coming up, and me and my crush finally started talking last night." Mackenzie says, a blush forming on her face.
Each girl raised a filled in eyebrow, wondering who her crush was. Nova bit her lip, carrying the conversation on.
"Who's your crush?" Nova quietly ask. The last time they talked, Mackenzie's crush was someone who was already taken. Hopefully things changed.
