When You Really Care About Someone, Their Happiness Matters More Than Yours.

"I'm gonna cry." Nova whines fanning her eyes.

"Me too, I never thought I would be able to leave this bitch." Ny'Asia says, copying Nova's sad tone while wrapping an arm around her.

"I have the perfect dress to wear with this." Cydney says looking at the cap and gown that was in her hand.

It was the Monday that everyone returned back to school from spring break. Today all graduating seniors were able to receive both their cap and gown; each accessory was a dark royal blue color that went with the school's team color.

The whole day for seniors were filled with graduation talk, team sport pictures for the yearbook, an assembly about graduation, and senior breakfast- which was each students favorite.

"Ion know why y'all niggas emotional. I can't wait to leave this trashy ass school." Kayla says rolling her eyes looking down at her cap and gown.

"I'm happy too. But it just makes me sad that I won't be in high school anymore, we really bout to be out here as whole ass adults. It's crazy." Nova shrugs wrapping her empty arm around Ny'Asia and laying her head on her shoulder.

"I feel you. I'll probably start sobbing the night before graduation, that's when shit really hits you." Cydney chuckles agreeing with Nova's statement.

"Can't relate," Ny'Asia smiles. "This school can kiss my ass." She shrugs.

"Just a few more weeks. Can't wait." Kayla happily sighs.

"The year was actually easy, we barely did anything academic wise." Cydney shrugs playing with the tassel on her cap.

"True, it went by faster than I expected. Can't decide it ninth or twelfth grade was my best year." Nova says thinking to herself.

Ninth grade was great for her; she had her best friend, her parents were still alive, the charts for basketball were great, and school was great. Then things just went terribly down hill from tenth grade, all the way up to the first couple months of twelfth grade. Nova never really thought to herself how much someone's presence could change your life; things were going so fast, she never sat down to think how much better and happier she was due to a certain someone being put in her life.

"When are you gonna start your speech? They aren't giving you much time to do it." Kayla ask looking at Nova who instantly smiled, but then frowned just as quick.

Nova had been picked as Valedictorian to make a speech at graduation; she was genuinely excited at first, but as the day went on, wasn't as happy. The thought of her having to get up in front of so many people didn't set right with her; she was hoping she didn't turn into a stuttering mess.

Apart of the nervousness, Nova was actually excited to say a speech. She was getting a chance to wish her peers a good start in the next chapter of life, regardless of how any of them treated her, she still wished that they were going to become successful in life. She didn't wish anything bad on anyone's future; she could and would never.
