Sometimes, Jaemin couldn't comprehend why he had to wake up early in the morning and go to school. It's not like he would need all the things he learned at school in the far futute. For example, algorithm that his Math teacher was explaining about as he zoned off.
He's not going to be a math professor or a scientist, for goodness sake!
So, Jaemin decided to look outside of the windows next to his seat. The tenth graders were having their PE class on the field. It seemed that the coach had assigned them to do football.
He spotted his basketball teammate, Jisung. He did great in all sports, to be honest. Jisung was a natural when it comes to coordination between his brain and his limps.
He also spotted one of his neighbor, Zhong Chenle. That ball of sunshine lived two houses away from Jaemin, and he was the nicest junior Jaemin had ever met. He moved to South Korea two years ago, from Shanghai.
And then, there he is.
Huang Renjun. The enigmatic person whom Jaemin loved to stare at.
Unlike Jisung and Chenle or any other tenth grader, he didn't run around chasing the ball. Anybody who laid an eye on Huang Renjun knew he wasn't a sport person. He just walked back and forth the field, trying to get the ball but didn't success.
"Yo, bro, what are you staring at?" Jeno, who sat next to Jaemin and was bored with doodling asked.
"Nothing. Jisung's playing football outside, he's damn good," Jaemin lied.
"Sure he is," Jeno yawned and went back to doodling God knows what.
Jaemin smiled at his best friend and drifted his attention back to the field outside. The game just got more intense. Jisung got the ball, and he was bringing it to the oponent's side. Unfortunately, he got blocked by another person from the other team.
"Renjun-hyung!" He kicked the ball towards the lanky noodle.
Jaemin immediately stood up, earning a look from his classmates and teacher.
"Na Jaemin, what are you doing?" His teacher asked.
"Nothing, I was having a really bad stomachache," Jaemin quickly thought and blurted out, "Miss? I think I want to puke so bad. Can I go to the school hospital?"
The teacher gave him a permission slip and told Jeno to take the lad to the hospital wing.
"What did you eat, Jaemin?" Jeno asked as he walked his best friend.
Jaemin faked a groan, "I don't even remember."
When they reached the school hospital, Jeno told the school nurse to take care of Jaemin. She gave him a cup of warm chamomile tea and told him to lay down in one of the bed.
Not long after Jeno and Jaemin entered, the door opened once more.
"Excuse me, miss, do you have an ice pack?" A familiar voice asked. Jisung's.
"I have some but it's downstairs," the nurse said, "Why? What's wrong with your friend?"
"I kicked a ball and it hit his head."
"Well, please wait on the bed next to those gentlemen. I will grab the ice pack," the nurse said, referring to Jaemin and Jeno.
