Chapter 3

As soon as I heard a women say "hello" I couldn't take it, I hurried and hung up the phone and threw my phone on the counter. I sat down at the bar, put my face into my hands and bursted out into tears. I looked at my hands and started staring at my wedding ring. I took it off and held it in my hands. I had a flashback of our wedding vows and I could hear Keanu saying "I do" I took the ring and threw it across the room. Louis heard a big thud and came running into the kitchen. He asked "what's wrong mama?" I said "oh nothing baby, mommy just isn't feeling well"

I realized I should probably go look for my wedding ring before Keanu realized it wasn't on my finger. I got up and searched the floor. I couldn't find it anywhere and I started to panic. I started talking to myself saying "okay Sandy, just calm down. If Keanu asks just say you dropped it down the drain."

I hear my phone start to ring, so I went over to the counter where I threw it and it was Keanu. I honesty didn't even want to hear his voice. I sat there for a couple of minutes and just let the phone ring. I asked myself "am I over reacting about something I don't even know is true, it was one little rumor and I doubt Keanu would be seeing another women, although why would there be a piece of paper with a ladies number on it?"

I picked up the phone and said "hello?" He said "hey babe, I'm on my way home from the gym and my buddies wanted to know if I wanted to go out tonight and get some drinks and dinner?" I told him that was fine because I didn't even want him in the house, and I surely didn't want to talk about this whole situation. I was hoping he would just forget about it. He asked "when did you want to talk about what's bothering you?" I stuttered and said "I guess when you get back from dinner" he said "okay I'll be home in 15 minutes, I love you" I said "okay see you when you get here" and hung up the phone.

I went upstairs and started reading a book I picked up from the store the other day. The title was Living In Fear. "What a coincidence" I mumbled to myself. I read the first couple sentences and I couldn't gather myself to read the book. My emotions were all over the place so I threw the book down on the bed. I heard a "beep beep" come from down stairs. That meant Keanu was home. It was our alarm system. Every time someone opened the door it beeped. I heard Keanu walking up the stairs and and he came into our bed room. He said he was going to take a shower and then meet up with his friends.

He came over to me took my hand and looked into my eyes and said "what's bothering you?" I said "we will talk about it later, okay?" He said "okay, I love you" and kissed my forehead. I looked down at our hands and and said quietly "I love you too" Keanu looked down and noticed I didn't have my ring on. He said "Sandy, where's your ring?" And I said "umm I.." He cut me off and interrupted. He said "are you trying to tell me something or..." I said "no, no I just um.. Dropped it down the drain?" He laughed and said "your always loosing something aren't ya?" I said "yeah, I guess so.." And cracked a little unsure smile.

I walked out of the bathroom and went into Louis's room. I was putting away his laundry and hanging up his clothes in his closet. I hear little foot steps walking down the hallway and there comes Louis walking in the door. He came up to me and crawled up in my lap. He looked up at me with a worried look on his face and asked "mama, why were you crying and why did you throw your ring?" I said "oh baby, mommy was just upset but I'm fine now." I put my hand on his cheek and said "mommys fine and I love you" he crawled out of my lap and said "I love you too mama to the moon and back and even bigger" I laughed and said "well I love you a million times around the moon and back to earth" he giggled and went back down stairs into the play room.

About that time Keanu was finished with his shower. I could smell his cologne from down the hall. He was wearing his favorite pair of jeans and a white button up. I thought to myself "gosh how can one human being be so sexy?" I looked down at the pile of clothes i still needed to put away and sighed. Keanu came up to me and said "I'm leaving, I'm not sure what time I'll be home but I'll text you when I'm leaving dinner." I said "okay, but please don't drink much tonight. Remember what happened last time" he looked down with a regretful look on his face and said "yes I know, I won't" he gave me a kiss and went down stairs to tell Louis bye.

After Louis and I ate dinner we went up stairs to take a bath. I got Louis undressed and filled the bath tub and put tons of bubbles in. I walked to Louis's room to get a pair of pajamas and I came back into the bath room and Louis was sitting there in the bath tub with bubbles up to the ceiling. At least that's what it seemed. I laughed and said "what do you think your doing mister?" He giggled and and said " I'm just having fun mama"

After Louis's bath I carried him to bed and tucked him in. I wanted to reassure Louis that I was okay because he saw me upset and I didn't want him going to sleep thinking I wasn't. So I sat him down and said "sweetie, I'm sorry you saw mommy upset earlier today and I want to let you know I love you okay?" He said "I know mommy, I know. I love you more" he took my hand and kissed it. I smiled and thought to myself my son is the sweetest. I kissed him goodnight, turned on his Spider-Man night light and and shut the door.

I walked down the hall and into the bathroom. I turned on the shower and got in. Sometimes showers are my place to gather my thoughts. I stood underneath the water and let it hit my back. I closed my eyes and just thought about everything that was going on. It was about 12 o'clock about the time I got out of the shower and got into bed. Keanu wasn't home yet and I ended up falling asleep.

It was about 3 in the morning and I heard my phone ringing right on the night stand by the bed. I reached over and it was a number I didn't recognize. I picked it up because Keanu still wasn't home, and I was starting to get worried. I answered and said "hello?" A man said "yes is this the wife of Keanu Reeves?" I answered back and said "yes, is everything okay?" The man replied and said "your husband has just been in a fatal car crash. I'm sorry mam. He's being sent to the hospital right now..."
