Guys, sorry I haven't written an actual chapter for a while so here it is. OH MY GOSH I almost forgot to tell you. Guard you hearts...Mileven mush below ❤️

Mike's POV

My breath staggered as I biked faster and faster through the woods. I saw it.

The little wooden cabin nestled in the darkening woods. It was a pretty run down building but it still looked homey.

I choked on the air. I was going to see her. I lost balance and fell off of my bike, landing hard on my side.

"Son of a bitch!" I half shouted. My eyes widened. I said that pretty loud. I hope El didn't hear that.

Standing, I brushed my pants off. I left my bike in the dirt and started limping towards the front door. I stopped in my tracks. Oh my god. Shit.

In the driveway was the Chief's truck, "I thought he wasn't going to be home tonight. He's never gonna let me in."

I ducked and moved towards El's bedroom window. She wasn't there.

"Where is she?" I moved towards the window near the front door.

Hopper was standing at the stovetop with a spatula in his hand. I stifled a laugh. He looked like the epitome of a dad. Like capital D-A-D.

"El, bring your plate over. I made more."

I inhaled. There she was. She was breath taking. Her hair was all curly. I hadn't seen it like this before. It was...beautiful. IT WAS SO CURLY. I thought Dustin's hair was curly. I exhaled since I had been holding my breath. I watched her as she skipped over to the stove and grabbed the Chief's arm.

"Woah, hold on there Miss Jane! You have to let go of me so I can maneuver the spatula," Hopper laughed joyously as he smiled down at Eleven.

"Okay," she slowly let go of his arm and held her plate with both hands.

Hopper set 2 heart shaped pancakes onto El's plate. She grinned widely as she raced back to the dining table.

"Now don't go too crazy with the syrup! You've already had enough sugar today," he looked over his shoulder at her and grinned.

I grinned from the window, my heart slowly melting. Hopper was a perfect dad for her. She needed someone who wasn't a psychotic bastard like Brenner.

Hopper sat down across from the curly haired girl, "Happy Valentine's Day Love."

El looked up and smiled widely, then her face fell into a confused frown, "What's wrong El?" Hop asked, concern in his eyes.

"Why are you here?"

Hopper laughed, "What do you mean?"

"Work. You said you had to work."

"Oh. Yea I did put I decided that I wanted to be here with you."

"You did?" She asked, joy growing in her eyes.

"Yea kid. I wanted to spend Valentine's Day with you."

"Me too," she grinned, stuffing her face with pancakes.

Still Mike's POV btw

I woke up in the grass. It was still pitch black outside. I looked down at my watch.

[7:38 PM]

Thank god. I fell asleep for about an hour. I looked back into the window. Hopper and El were sitting on the couch watching TV.  The credits on the film were on the television. That means the movie was over.

Hopper stood up and stretched, "Hey kid, I think it's time to hit the hay."

"But-"

"No buts. You need sleep. You had a lot of sugar today so you're going to crash soon. It might as well be in bed."

El looked highly confused, "What is 'crash'?"

"Crash. It means...uh...like...it means you get really tired after you eat sugar. You have a lot of energy then it just goes away and you sleep because it makes you feel better."

"Okay, then I'll sleep."

Hopper pulled Eleven into a tight hug. They stood embracing for a few moments and Hop kissed the top of her curly hair.

I found myself putting my hand on my heart, "What am I doing? I'm not a girl..." I muttered to myself, embarrassed that I was acting all soft and doing weird hand gestures, "Mike snap out of it. I'm such a weirdo," I whispered, shaking my head.

El and Hopper finally parted and I watched as El skipped to her room.

I waited for about five minutes just to make sure she was changed and I wasn't intruding on anything. I moved over to El's window and i peered in. She was sitting on her bed, writing in a journal. I wonder if she wrote about me.

I took a deep breath and knocked softly. El looked around and then shook her head, not noticing me.

I smiled and rolled my eyes. I tapped a little bit harder and her head shot up again, her curls bouncing. She looked towards the door then towards the vent on the floor. She turned her head and faced the window.

Our eyes met.

"Mike."
