El's POV

It had been 3 days since I saw Max and Mike together. I had mostly gotten over it, just like I did last time.

I stood up, sighing to myself as I walked to the window to watch the rain.

The water streamed down the window, leaving wet trails along the glass.

I breathed in. I missed Mike. A lot.

The sky continued to dump buckets of water onto the town, making the ground muddy. The sky seemed to cry, reflecting my now wet face.

"Stop. Don't cry. You'll see him soon," I told myself as I wiped my eyes.

I longed to touch the rain. Opening the window, I inched my arm outside. I felt a rush of excitement as the water dripped onto my warm skin. It wasn't enough. I wanted to be the rain.

I turned on my heels and marched to the back door. The door creaked open, my feet inching outside. Peeling my socks off, I stepped onto the muddy ground.

I spun around in the rain, laughing joyfully as the raindrops kissed my face.

I hadn't smiled in days.

Mike's POV

I sat in my room, the phone in my hand.

"But I don't get it!"

"Oh my god Mike. It's just math."

"Easy for you to say. You're good at math."

"And I don't understand shit when it comes to science. But you're over here getting an A on every test."

I rolled my eyes, "I can tutor you later! Just help me with the last problem."

I heard a sigh from the sassy girl on the other end of the phone, "Fine. You just divide then square root the answer."

I frowned at the paper in front of me. The wonderful math take home test. And I was on the last problem, "Ohhhhh, I get it now."

I could almost hear Max roll her eyes, "Good, cause we've been on the phone for 3 hours."

"Oh shit. That long?"

"Uh huh."

"Yikes. Sorry."

She chuckled, "It's fine Sweaterboy. I had nothing to do today anyway. Lucas had to mow the lawn before it rained, so I couldn't hang out with him."

"But it started raining an hour ago."

"He had to help his dad with stuff too."

"Oh."

"Any plans with Eleven anytime soon?"

I looked out the window. It was still raining. Maybe we could do a movie night.

"I don't know."

"I saw Hopper at the station. His car hasn't moved all day. It's probably a late shift."

"Maybe."

I heard her groan, "Mike! Eleven is home alone! Go to that little cabin and spend time with her right now!"

"Believe me, I want to."

"Why not just do it?"

"Hopper would kill me. Like decapitate me. Shoot me maybe, if he found out I was alone with El all day."

"He doesn't really have to know, does he?"

"Max!"

"Fine, fine. But it's just a thought."

I huffed to myself. Max planted a wonderful idea that would definitely get me murdered. Why did she do this to me?

"I hate you Ginger."

"You're welcome Mike."

I smiled and hung up. Racing down the stairs, I threw my boots and raincoat on. I jotted down a quick note to my mom and sprinted to get my bike.

I was on my way to her.

To El.

Nancy's POV

I sat alone in my room, listening to music as I folded my clothes. I sighed, grabbing another basket from the doorway.

I heard a knock from my window. I squinted towards it, seeing a blurry face.

"Jonathan, what are you doing here?" I said as I helped him into the room.

"I thought you might like some company."

"Company? Why would I need company when I have 5 baskets of clothes to occupy my time?" I said sarcastically as the boy near the window smiles.

"I can help," he says, grabbing another basket from the hall and starting to fold.

"You don't need to do that Jon. I can do it, really," I say grabbing his hand.

He looks at my hand and brings it to his lips. He kisses it softly, "But I want to Nance."

My heart fluttered just by hearing his voice, "Okay."

He stood up and grabbed my waist, lifting me onto the bed.

I giggled uncontrollably, "Jonathan! What're you doing?"

"I can fold the clothes, you can relax," he said, getting on his knees again and picking up one of Mike's T-shirts.

I sat up, "I can help. They're my clothes anyway. You don't need to-"

He leaned over me, pressing his lips onto mine. My words were lost in my throat as he continued to kiss me. Our mouths moved together slowly.

We parted and his face lingered an inch away from mine, "I insist."

I smiled, blushing at him, "Okay."

He nodded triumphantly and got back to folding clothes. I grinned at the boy that loved me.

He was the only boy I had ever loved (sorry Steve 😬).

Mike's POV

The little cabin came into view. I dropped my bike in front of the door, not even trying to hide it.

I lifted the door mat. I almost laughed at my luck. I found the key to the front door under it. It's always under the front mat isn't it?

I opened the door and inched my way inside.

"El? Eleven?" I called into the room quietly. No reply.

I hung up my raincoat and slipped my boots off, on the rug right inside the door.

I walked around the living room, seeing a box of eggos on the table. I smiled. That's my girl.

I noticed a puddle of water on the floor as I neared the kitchen. A window was wide open, letting the rain come in.

I slid it closed and hurried into the kitchen. I grabbed paper towels and sopped up the water.

Throwing away the paper towels, I continued to look around the house, noticing El's room on the right side of the house.

In front of me was the back door. It was was cracked open just enough to see the light from outside.

I moved towards it, my heart beating. I grabbed the handle and opened the door further.

My lips peeled into a smile.

She was beautiful.

Oh my gosh. I tried to publish this yesterday and I thought that it had. And I was getting all depressed that no one was commenting or voting. But of course wattpad decided to be glitchy. Luckily, my chapter wasn't deleted which is great. Enjoy some Jancy.
