El's POVI looked up at the clock on the kitchen wall.
"3. 1. 5," I whispered to myself.
I sighed. Mike was probably at home by now. I had heard that today was his last day of school.
After the incident when Mike accidentally stayed the night, Hopper wouldn't let me see him. He told me that 'it was bad to be alone with him'. I don't understand how Mike could be bad.
I was laying on the floor, my feet on the couch, moving back and forth. I was bored. As always.
"Hey kid, I'm home!" I got up quickly, wondering why Hopper was back so early.
"Hi! Why are you here?" I walked over to him, looking up at the large man.
"I have a surprise for you," he was smiling.
I frowned, confused, "What is it?"
He rolled his eyes, "I can't tell you. Just put on that outfit I got you in May," He seemed more excited than I was. He was acting like a little girl.
I put my hand on his forehead, "Are you feeling alright, dad?"
He chuckled, "Yes, I'm fine. Just go get changed and I'll make some food for us."
I turned on my heel, moving swiftly out of the living room. I closed my door, softly. I crossed the room slowly, opening my closet.
I smiled, pushing clothes aside to get a better view of the blue dress. The blue dress from that magical night. From the Snowball.
I stroked the bluish grey fabric, soaking in all of the memories from that beautiful night.
"El?" Hopper knocked on the door to my room.
I looked up, "Yes."
"I brought you something," he held up a dress. The most beautiful blue dress I had ever seen. The only dress that I had ever seen besides the pink one that belonged to Mike's sister.
I frowned, confused at why I was getting a dress, "Why do you have a dress?"
Hopper chuckled, "It's for you! For the dance."
My brows furrowed, "Dance?" I suddenly realized what he meant, "The Snowball?!?!"
"Yea."
I leapt into the air, "Really?!?!"
"Yup. You're going to the dance kiddo," Hopper smiled widely at me, happy with my reaction.
I still remembered the feeling, the euphoria. I touched the Snowball dress one more time then pulled out the outfit from the back of my closet.
First came the jean shorts. They were bleached out with cuffs that came right up to my mid thigh. The top was a pale pink shirt with a sweetheart neckline and capped sleeves. The hem came just under my belly button.
I slipped the outfit on swiftly, striding over to my mirror. I brushed out my brown hair, putting it into a messy bun. I spun around, looking happily at my reflection.
I exited my room, still confused at what my dad was planning. We ate quickly, Hop telling me to eat faster every few bites.
"Okay, come on! We don't want to be late."
"Late to what? Just tell me already, you're starting to freak me out a little bit."
"You'll find out soon enough."
We both got into the car, pulling out of our house faster than we should have. Hopper barely missed a tree, "Woah! Focus!"
"I'm focused," He continued to drive, going over the speed limit.
We drove into town, passing Melvald's and other stores. Soon, we appeared in a neighborhood, driving past rows of houses. Hop started slowing down.
"Wait. Are we going where I think we're going?" I said, starting to recognize the houses and streets. Some were the streets the party and I used to bike down.
Hopper just beamed. So did I. Cause I knew where we were going. I knew exactly where we were going.
My heart started beating, almost like it was jumping out of my chest. I looked to Hopper, knowing which house was coming up next.
And as I guessed, we stopped in front of Mike's house. The memories flooded my mind, my excitement making me shiver slightly.
"Okay. El. I have a few rules. I arranged all of this with Mrs. Wheeler. You can stay over, as long as you and Mike don't...uh...get too close. I expect you to use manners and everything. Okay?"
My eyes widened, "Of course! But...does this mean that I don't have to stay at the house anymore? I'm allowed to come out?"
Hopper nodded, "Dr. Owens and I have been talking and we think that everything has died down enough. You can go to town whenever you want now. Just as long as you're with somebody."
I was practically bursting, "Thank you! THANK YOU!" I hugged him tightly, laughing happily.
"Okay okay. Now get going! Go see him," Hop smiled a knowing smile.
I nodded, sliding out of the car and slamming the door closed.
Max's POV
I turned my head, hearing a car door close. I frowned, seeing Dustin get up and check the basement window.
"Uhhh, Mike? You might wanna check the window," Dustin said, his face completely serious and almost amazed.
Mike rolled his eyes. He got up from his spot on the couch, moving to the window, "What could this possibly be..."
His voice trailed off, Mike freezing at the window, "Mike? Mike, what is it?" I frowned, waiting for an answer.
Will got up as well and looked through the glass, "Oh my god," he breathed.
I stood too, "What is going on?" I said, getting more confused by the minute.
As I said those words, Mike disappeared out the door, the sound of it's creaky hinges echoing in my ears.
Mike's POV
I left the basement quickly, breathing hard. I walked a few more feet, and I stopped in my tracks.
I saw her.
She stood at the end of the driveway, just 20 feet away. She stared back at me with the same intensity in her eyes that I knew were in mine. Her body seemed to mirror mine. She was also breathing deeply, almost as though we had both been running.
In my peripheral vision, I could see Hopper's car pull away.
"El?" I could see her composure break when I said her name.
"Mike?"

You guys have no idea how long I've been thinking about the end of this chapter and the next chapter. Like it been since before I started on Wattpad. Like a longggg time. And I'm so happy that I finally get to write it. The next chapter should come out tomorrow but knowing me, it may not come out until Monday.
