Today was the big day — Saturday. However, I couldn't sleep. I spent nearly all night counting sheep, cows and any other farm animal I could think of up on the spot. I just kept thinking about Bram. Bram and me. Bram and I. Bram.

He had come over to study earlier in the night, it was quick. A two-hour session, when he decided to finally leave, he kissed me goodnight. "You're getting good at that Simon," he gestured towards my lips. I blushed, throwing a hand over my mouth, embarrassed.

Now here I was, 2 am, replaying that moment in my head over and over again. I had no idea how many times I would think back to that split second of my life. I turned on my side, dragging my blankets to a new, colder side of my bed. I only wished Bram was here.

I found my phone somewhere in the layers of blankets I slept with. I picked it up, no new messages. I decided to go to creeksecrets. Nothing new, nobody was posting this late at night. I googled some Youtube videos, watching some of my favorite creators ramble on about there Tinder dates. I giggled.

I was super lucky I knew who I was dating, and it didn't end out as bad as some stories. Like the stories, you read online, about adults pretending to be younger to get closer to people. I shivered, why was my room so cold?

I then googled some Fanfiction. Which I had recently begun to discover. I was worried there wouldn't be any Gay Fanfiction that I could relate to. To my surprise, there was tons of it. And everyone in the commentary was so accepting

BRAM: are you up?

SIMON: yeah! are you?

Wait. Oh no.

BRAM: yes silly... i'm so sick. my parent's aren't home and i think i have a fever everything is so hot...

SIMON: you want me to come over?

BRAM: could you?

SIMON: i can be over in five

Simon threw on a jacket, ignoring his pajamas. Bram wouldn't mind. He wrote a note on a notepad and ripped it off. He left it for his mother. BRAM IS SICK. HE'S ALONE, SO IM GOING TO HELP HIM OUT. I'LL BE BACK LATER.

It was early in the morning, I could be back in time before my mother even saw the note. I grabbed a soup can from the pantry and a handful of double stuff Oreos. I hopped in my car as fast as I could. The car started and I drove off to Bram's.

It was dark this early in the morning, I had to put my headlights on. The sky was a dark fuschia, and I noticed that some peoples lights were on. They must have been getting ready for work. Or they had a sick boyfriend too.

As I pulled into Bram's driveway, I noticed the front door was open. Thankfully, they had a screen door or else their house door would just be open. I walked up to the screen door, opening it. Then I closed it and locked it. Why didn't Bram close the door? Or lock it? What if someone came into the house? What if he got robbed --

"Hey babe," he whispered. He was wrapped in a dark blue blanket. His eyes were shot. Like he could use some sleep but hadn't been given any. His face was flushed and his breathing was off, most likely due to his stuffy nose.

I kissed him on the cheek. He really did have a fever. He walked me to his living room couch. There was a pillow and a blanket already thrown there. I noticed that the TV was playing some sitcom, it was on mute.

"Let me warm this up for you," I held up the can of soup I had brought over. He nodded, collapsing on the couch. I watched the numbers beep down on the microwave. Bram grunted from the couch.

"Babe--" Bram whispered, "why soup?" Simon paused, walking over to Bram and kissing his forehead.

"'Cause soup is magic," Simon pulled out an Oreo out of his pocket and handed Bram one. Simon pulled another one out of his pocket and started nibbling on the cookie.

"You're freaking adorable," Bram sighed, "like seriously,"
