Chapter Two Flames

I untied my mask and I put it in my small knapsack. I kept my cape on as the sun began to set. I had to visit the priest before I set out on my journey; he was the only person in this kingdom who knew that I was the assassin. He was not the best person to tell I kill people for a living' but I had to confess.

The priest took it the best he could. He walked out of the confession box and punched a tree almost hurting his hand. Then he yelled at me in Latin, which I didn't know he knew that well. Afterward he went to confession himself, but he said he would keep my secret.

I saddled up Flames then I rode into town with all that I needed for this mission, and then I could retire and be Archer for the rest of my life. I could say the Black Death died the end of the assassin. I got onto him and put up the cloak of my cape, making my face dark and unrecognizable.

"Come on Flames." I muttered as my horse took off into the night down the hill towards the dark town. More directly though towards the church. As Flames my black stallion slowly trotted down towards town I thought about The Black Death. All that everyone knew was that he was a costumer of mine, and I was the only one who knew his real identity. I always thought it was amazing no one had figured it out yet. I sighed as Flames; my horse finally was in the midst of the buildings.

Flames trotted towards the church, as the sky grew darker. We were a bit away from the church when the priest came out, seeming a bit rushed.

"Father I need the Lords bidding!" I said out loud as he stopped and turned towards me. He shut his eyes as he let out a deep breath. The Priest was always very annoyed with me, which I thought was funny.

"If you're looking for Jesus then get on your knees." He said as Flames rode up to him. He looked stressed, his forehead was covered with sweat, and his little bit of hair looked whiter than usual. I smiled as I jumped down off of Flames landing perfectly on the solid ground.

"What do you want Archer?" He whispered out glaring at me. He usual doesn't call me by my real name, so something truly must be bothering him. Though I will not question it, it'll make him madder.

"I would like you to bestow a prayer on me." I asked as I got onto one knee handing him my silver sword. The priest took it as he began to mutter something in Latin as he placed the duller side of the sword on my shoulder. After he hand finished saying the pray he slammed down my sword into the dirt walking off away from me. I stood up as I walked him go down the street of the village.

"Thank you father, tell the Lord I truly thank him for my good keepings." I yelled to him as I grabbed my sword and I put it back into its case. I laughed as the priest disappeared into the village. I ran my fingers quickly through Flames main then I got back onto her.

"Hee-Yah!" I cried into the night as the sky began to storm dropping small amounts of water and releasing bolts of light. The bellowing of the sky erupted the night as the storm grew mightier and stronger.

Flames rode on faster and faster. Trees passed by us, forest, village after village. The night went on as the water fell and the bolts grew brighter. We had to get to Demontive, which was almost a days travel by itself. Flames was the fastest horse in the land, she could outrun any storm. She was quick like fire.

The rain rushed onto my face, the sound of Flames hooves against the hard ground left a sense of fulfillment in the air. Then the storm it was a brilliant show bestowed upon me. Flames blue eyes looked straight ahead not truly focusing on anything other than the road, the same with my blue eyes. We kept riding into the night, braving the mighty storm that went on around us.

Faster, faster, quicker the storm. Villages upon villages, forest upon forest pass by. The Hunter is coming. Faster, faster, quicker the speed. Plains upon plains, mountains upon mountains pass by. The Hunter is coming.

The storm began to end as the sun began to rise about to light the world. We had arrived at the top of a hill, seeing a great view. The large great castle that I had heard some much about, the large village that laid out in front of it, the large lake that laid out to the west of the castle and went on for a while, then forest that surrounded it all, and lastly the large mountains that held it on three sides holding it in.

We had arrive finally, now the Black Death must come.
