Chapter Five Chains
Flames rode quickly as the sun began to sink. I was hoping to get back to Leon before nightfall but the hours slipped away before my eyes. I had wrapped up my hand already, and the princess finally shut up after a while and she just laid there with an angry look on her face. What a spoiled brat. I need to make camp, even though it was dangerous I didn't really want to ride all night with the princess with me. The way she glares at me just makes me want to leave her in the woods.
I led Flames to the side of the road, then I stopped her and I jumped off. I began to walk next to flames into the woods; well we aren't going to be camping right at the side of the road. The guards are still behind us.
We went in for about 13 feet then I stopped her in a clearing. This would be perfect for now. I grabbed the princess off of Flames and I took over to a tree. I sat her on the ground as she glared at me. This glare was very annoying. I took out the rest of the rope from my knapsack. I tied her legs to the tree trunk.
"Now you stay here and this won't be difficult." I said to her as I walked over to another tree trunk. I put my sword down leaning against the tree trunk. I sat down and leaned against it, still mask & cloak on. Even though she is going to die I don't want any other people to know who I am. Wouldn't be good on my mind. I closed my eyes as I drifted to sleep. Though I wished for a dream I knew I would not have one.
For you see I can't dream. I have and will never dream. Instead I lay asleep but I hear everything around me. This made me an outcast. If someone was talking to me while I was sleeping I could hear everything they say. Then if they woke me up I could tell them everything they said. People said it was a gift but I thought it was a curse.
While I was asleep I could hear the sound of Flames breathing. I could hear the wind blow sounding like a lullaby. But something else caught onto my ears the sound of light footsteps on the ground coming towards me. I kept still listening, ready to attack at the right moment. I could hear the heartbeat of the person as they leaned towards me.
I flashed my eyes opened and I grabbed my sword. I jumped up off the ground seeing Isabelle with a sword in her hand too; wait where did she get that. Then it came to me, there was a sword on Flames too. I sighed as she held the sword tightly in her hands with full control.
"Did you think you could kill me in the night?" I asked her, as I untied my cape. It could snag on something now I don't want that. She smiled at me.
"Did you think you could just tie me up!" Isabelle laughed. I rolled my eyes.
"Lady I don't want to do this again." I said as I let out a long breath. I groaned as she lunged at me, proper footing this time. I blocked it. She went for my side I easily ducked blocking again. She took a swipe at my feet I jumped up taking a small swing to her hand. She got cut a bit. She didn't let go of her sword though.
"It looks like someone has been trained." I muttered out as I blocked another of hers again.
"Every since I was 5." She said as she blocked one of mine, impressive. Flames just stood watching us fight, what a horse she is. I did one more move I had learned while doing a job for a person in Italy. The move is where you trip them with your feet. Not very special but it did help a lot. I quickly tripped her and Isabelle fell to the floor.
I grabbed the sword off the ground. I pointed the tip right at her throat. Her eyes grew wide with fear as she looked up at me, she was truly scared.
"Get up." I commanded. She stood up gracefully and quickly.
"Now go get my cloak." I commanded as I led her over to it. She did it quickly. And then she threw it at me. I grabbed it and I quickly put it on.
"Now sit." I said as she glared at me. She sat on the ground. Suddenly there was a large yelling sound Isabelle and I looked around. Suddenly a group of men surrounded us, but these weren't guards. They were something far worst.
