Chapter Nine Saving Isabelle

I looked again at the site, well no use of trying to save her now. To many people, she will have to wait till nightfall. I sat on the branch right where no one would be able to see me. I might as well take a nap while I am waiting, luckily that means no one can sneak up on me. I leaned against the trunk of the tree and I closed my eyes instantly falling asleep. I wished I could dream of my sisters, the heavens, fighting, maybe at the least how I will save Isabelle. Though no dreams, none at all. I could hear the talk from the people, I could hear the birds chirping, and the wind as it shook the trees. It was so peaceful, so very peaceful. But as I continued on sleeping everything began to grow quiet. Nightfall was here

I forced open my eyes to see darkness. Now I must go save Isabelle, there is probably a bounty on the Black Death, I am not really good with bounties. Too much pressure. I stood up on the branch looking out at the camp it was becoming dark, people were going to bed. I knew there will be guards so I must be swift. I looked down at the ground then I jumped getting ready to take in impact. I did so perfectly I must say. Now it was time to begin.

The field was filled with tall grasses that I could easily hide in. I crawled swiftly through the grasses, as I head towards the camp. As I got there I stood behind a large cart, buying time for myself. I looked around watching the guards walk to the other side of camp. Right when he was out of sight I ran into camp hiding behind anything looking for Isabelle tied up somewhere. Suddenly a guard turned a corner, I jumped into the shadows. He began to walk by; though his eye sight turned to wear I was hiding in the shadows. I stayed hidden, stayed quiet. My hand rested on my sword waiting if he attacked. Though he passed by, I let out a deep breath. I stood back up but not fully, waiting till he was fully out of sight. Then I stood fully up and I headed into camp.

After a while of hiding and sneaking around I began to hear an angry muffled mumbling. I know that annoying sound anywhere. I followed the sound to an almost empty tent. In it sat Isabelle all tied up. I walked into the tent quickly, she looked up at me and didn't seem to happy. I sighed as I untied her. She jumped up and glared at me.

"How dare you leave me!" She yelled. I clasped my hand over her mouth. Then with that I began to hear men shouting something along the lines someone is taking the prisoner.

"You've done it now Princess." I said as I let go of her mouth and turned around looking at the door. I needed to think but there was no time.

"Come on Princess." I yelled as I grabbed my sword and I cut open a large gash in the back of the tent making a large hole. I ran though it with Isabelle right behind me. We didn't make it far though a large ground of people surrounded the tent. I stopped dead in my tracks with the Princess right behind me. I held my sword steady waiting for the first attack.

"Archer?" Came a voice from the crowd. I knew that voice anywhere. I smiled.

"Alexander?" I replied as the crowd parted.
