Chapter Thirteen Battle Wounds
"Archer!" Isabelle yelled as the Flames bucked up, I still felt very dizzy. Everything was a blur. I could just see her tossed down to the ground. Alexander jumped off of his horse, his sword already in his hands. "I've found him!" The large green man called out as he began to walk towards me. I need to get up, I just need to. Three more large green men came out from their hiding places. Everything was still so blurry. I couldn't move, so I just looked at the men. They looked like god had cut them from the forest floor. Their skin looked as rough as bark but as slimy as a bog. Their heads were very plump and round. Well hell their whole body was very round. All they wore were some leather pants, and they had daggers lining their belts. Oh no.
"Alexander Run!" I yelled to him as I tried to get up. Alexander's eyes connected with mine for a second and he knew. He grabbed Emeline and began to run. "Isabelle hurry!" He yelled. The green men, the ogres, paid no attention to them. They were focused on me. Oh no. I tried to get up as they walked over to me smiling showing their brown teeth. "We finally found you." The leader growled as he grabbed me by my hair and picked me up.
"Ahhh! God Ahhhh!' I yelled, it felt like they were ripping my hair out of my head. It didn't help I was very dizzy. "Sir Tybalt would love to see you." He muttered. Oh god. I need to escape. I must. An idea came to my mind instantly. I have one shot at this. I swung my feet up, using all of my energy to kick him in the face. He fell back letting go of my hair, thank god. I jumped forwards; trying to get the farthest I could form the other ogres.
"Get him!" The ogre that I had kicked in the face yelled as suddenly a loud wood cracking sound came. I turned my head a bit to see two more ogres fall. Behind them was Isabelle with a large stick. "Come on Isabelle!" I yelled as she dropped the stick and ran towards me. I grabbed her hand as the three ogres that had fallen got up and began to chase us. I ran through the pain, I needed to. We needed to get away, though I knew Flames was with Alexander and Emeline. Oh god were doomed.
"Archer what are we going to do?" Isabelle yelled as we kept running. I truly had no idea. "Just keep running!" I replied as we were coming up to a hill. "I have an idea." I said as we jumped over the hill. Isabelle was trying to run farther but I grabbed her and pulled her back. She fell onto me, as I fell onto the ground. 'Shhh!" I hissed as she rolled off of me. She nodded her head franticly as I grabbed my sword form it's case. Now or never I thought as I jumped up. The ogres were right there, two were in front while the other two trailed behind. "Run now." I hissed to her as I began to get dizzy again.
"Hey looking for me!" I called to them as suddenly Isabelle stood up next to me. "What are doing, run!" I hissed at her as the ogres came at us. "And let you have all the fun." She said as she took the daggers from her belt. I didn't want to argue mostly now. Isabelle stepped forward letting the two blades hurl at one of the ogres, right in the head. Perfect shot. Though there were still 3 more. The first one came at me with two blades a drawn. I lunged at him starting it out, this deadly dance. He tried to get me but I just did block after block. I blocked one of his daggers, though before I could get to the next step he took his second dagger and threw it at my chest.
"Ahh!" I held my screams in as it pierced right above my stomach. I looked at him as he smiled. It felt like a hot poker had been shoved through my chest. He tried to go at me again with his only dagger. I blocked him and when I held him in that pose I knew what I had to do. I lifted my hand quickly and punched him in the face. He fell to the ground as I grasped my stomach. I could feel my breath hitch and my eyes getting blurry. I took my sword and knocked his head off as blood sprayed onto me soaking my clothes. I turned around a bit as I still wobbled around to see Isabelle stab an ogre in the heart. He fell over dead. As he fell to the ground she looked over at me.
Her brown hair was sweaty and covering her face as her eyes were lighted with excitement. She smiled at me as she whipped her arm, it was bleeding. I tried to smile back but I couldn't I was so weak. My knees buckled as I fell to the ground dropping my sword. I closed my eyes for a second "ARCHER!" I could hear her yell. The pain it was engulfing my body. I opened my eyes back up to see Isabelle above me. She was panicking; her eyes were searching for mine. I tried to keep them open. I could see a shadow begin to cover Isabelle. Then I saw the ogre with a blade a drawn behind her. I tried to point up but I was too slow I closed my eyes as suddenly a scream was let out. I opened them again to see Alexander with his sword drawn and covered with blood. An ogre head rolled to my side.
"He got wounded." Isabelle explained as she stood up. Emeline sat at my side. Her green eyes looked at mine. "Archer calm yourself." She whispered to me, her voice was like a lullaby. So smooth and sweet. "I can save him but we're going to have to stay here tonight. He can't be moved at all. Till tomorrow." Emeline explained as her hands moved my hair away from my forehead. I nodded my head as I began to feel myself slip. "Now stay with me Archer." She murmured as I opened my eyes one last time to see her eyes begin to glow, her magic was starting.
