Chapter Fifteen Warm Welcome part 2
Unbelievable. I needed to clear my thoughts mostly when it will be in the same room with me tonight. I walked out of the Inn and into the town, letting myself linger near the edge of the forest. The world moved so slowly. I looked out into the forest, watching as the wind blew the leaves, the grass, everything. It was beautiful. We were all but a small speck of nothing in this world.
"Hello Archer." A voice whispered in the wind. I looked around for a second, letting my hand come to rest on the sword. Though there was nothing, it had just been the wind. I shook it off and with that I turned around and headed back into the Inn. Night began to fall.
-------
The rooms were small, perfect. Two beds were but on both ends of the walls and a small little dresser stood between them. On the other wall was a window. It was light by a candle they give you. Isabelle walked into it, as I followed. She was having a fit.
She let out a loud sigh as she sat on her bed. I walked in and rolled my eyes. I put my swords, daggers, and few other things onto the small dresser and with that I got onto the bed and laid down. "Blow out the candle Isabelle." I muttered as I closed my eyes. "Over my dead body." She exclaimed. What kind of person did she think I was?
'That can be arranged." I replied as I smiled. Instantly the light was gone. I drifted off to my kind of sleep. I listened to the wind. The muttering of animals, the clanging of pots and pans in the kitchen below, the drunken moan of men in the pub, the sweet soothing voice coming from the outside. It was all there.
After a few minutes I noticed a strange voice talking in the air. "Archer, he's the one we're looking for." I tried to calm my breathing so I could hear it. It began to get clearer as if it was moving towards me. "Are you sure?" One voice hissed. "Positive, Sir I mean King Tybalt was crystal clear in his description." The other voice responded. "He'll never know what hit him, shame." I forced my eyes open. In one quick move I jumped out of the bed and I grabbed my sword from the dresser.
There I looked upon two shadowy figures. They hissed at me. I held up my sword, though I was still a bit sleepy I knew it was time to fight. "Archer be quiet.."Isabelle whispered. "Oh Dear God!" She yelled as she got out of the bed and stood behind me. "Looks like our Warm Welcome is over." I groaned as the figures stood tense. Then one flew forward. It was too fast. I pushed Isabelle out of the way just as it hit me. I flew back landing on the dresser, causing a loud bang and a crack. It really hurt. I shook it off quickly then I jumped right back up. The figures laughed and they dissolved.
"Isabelle stay close to me." I yelled. She stood next to me looking around for the figures. "Run." I whispered. I grabbed her hand and we were heading to the door when something hit us and sent us flying towards the window. We hit it as we began to fall to the ground. Isabelle was screaming. We landed onto a large cart full of hay, luckily. "We have to hurry." I yelled as I rolled off of the cart, Isabelle followed. When we stood up we realized we were surrounded. Shadowy men and gruesome green women stood around us. I finally knew who they were. Demons and Witches. Why now?
There had to be 20 at the least. "Come on Archer, let's go. Sir Tybalt is waiting." One of the witches said as she held out her hand. "He's not going anywhere!" Isabelle yelled as she glared at the witch. The witch smiled. "Well I guess this will be fun."
"Archer!" I looked up to the second story window and there was Emeline. She held a small book in her hands. "Her spell book." Isabelle said in relief. Emeline threw a sword to Isabelle. "Let's see what you've learned princess." I smirked as they prepared to attack. "We shall see." With that came the first attack. I sliced though tons upon tons.
Some would come at me and growl, then try to swipe me. I just kept moving my hand was fast with the blade. While killing one I spotted Alexander on the room of the Inn, he was shooting at things in the air with his bow. I realized the things in the air were Witches. Emeline was casting spells causing bats to fly down, force fields, and trees to help. They just kept coming. They all seemed the same though, like copies.
"Isabelle, you think there might be a spell book in them?" I asked her as her back went up against mine. "Possible." I she said as she killed another. She was brilliant, brilliant in the battle field. "Stay strong." I yelled to her as I one of the witches fell to the ground. She was dying. I had one shot at this. I ran up and bounced off of her back into the sky. Just in time to grab a broom that was in the air. I swung myself kicking the witch off. Right when she fell off the broom began to go down. I stood up on it. We were going just where I want us to.
I could spot one large witch and a demon reading off something loudly and with that a smaller version of them would appear. I was feet away from them. I jumped into the air off of the broom as I free fall, I was heading straight towards them. I had my sword a drawn with it facing down. I feel right onto the witch slicing her in half. Before the demon could even react I swung cutting his head clean off.
The copies began to go into chaos and ran out of the city, right past me. Flames began to appear. "We need to leave!" I yelled as I ran up to Isabelle, Emeline, and Alexander. "Why are they fleeing? Cowards!" Isabelle asked. She seemed very full of herself. I grabbed her by the arm. "Sir Tybalt has a backup plan if they lose." I said as I looked dead into her eyes. "What is it?" We didn't have time to answer that. I ran dragging Isabelle, who was yelling at me the whole time. Alexander & Emeline were already on their horse. I got on mine and Isabelle did too.
We rode off as fast as we could. We arrived on a large hill that overlooked the village. Suddenly a loud bam filled the night and the village erupted into flames. "I see what you mean." Isabelle whispered into my ear. I nodded as we rode off into the forest, as night continued on.
