Chapter Nineteen Road to Leon
I did not bother to listen to Edith and Isabelle reunite with each other, I was just glad to finally have a horse to myself. It made the ride more relaxing. We were riding as fast as we could to Leon, the longer Sir Tybalt was in power the more people this was effecting. The sooner we get there the better chance we have of defeating him. Our ride was smooth, no one tried to kill me amazingly.
We rode through a thick forest reaching a steep hill. When we stood upon it, you could see Leon and all its glory. "We are here." Edith said as I dismounted Flames. The wind began to pick up as the sun slowly rose from the ground. It was behind the castle creating beauty, true beauty. I turned around back to everyone. "Now it's time to discuss how we shall be getting in." I said as I walked slowly towards them.
----------------------------
It was pitch black knight, right before Midnight. I stood back against the walls of the castle. Waiting, for the sign. I leaned forward a bit seeing Isabelle and Alexander a bit more than 200 feet to my left. Emeline was 100 feet to my right. Edith was far off in the woods, safe. Emeline drew her spell book from her satchel then she walked forward away from the protection of the wall. She stood in front of it, reading a passage from the book as each and every light on the wall began to go out.
That was the signal.
I grabbed the rope from my bag, it was weighed down with a large stone tied to the end. I tossed it up, perfectly I might add. It went over the top of the wall, resting on the guard's place on it. I began to climb as Emeline ran over and climbed up with Alexander and Isabelle. As I rose to the top I peeked around to see no one in sight. I stood up fully bringing out my sword in a single flowing moment. I held it as I watched Emeline, Alexander, and Isabelle get up. I ran over to them.
"Now it's time for the tricky part." Isabelle whispered to us. I smiled at her. "Every part of this plan is the tricky part." I muttered as she began to lead the way. We all followed her as we went into a small room that only held a stairwell. We went down it quickly and quietly emerging into a room full of sleeping guards. Isabelle didn't seem at the least bit concerned about the presence of them, she just tiptoed around them.
She opened the door and we all went out into the streets of Leon. At the moment they were empty. "Archer!" Alexander whispered loudly as he grabbed all of us and pressed us against the wall. A loud sound of feet passed. We all peeked around to see a large black dragon walking through the streets. Sir Tybalt was really making sure that he wouldn't be hurt. Isabelle smiled as she grabbed my hand and lead us behind the building we were pressed up against.
It was a maze of alleyways, Isabelle maneuvered us through, as we went towards the castle. Finally the maze ended we were only a street and wall away from the castle. Now we had a real problem. In front of the castle were about 50 guards. Sir Tybalt was really making sure he wouldn't be killed by someone else's hand. "I know how we can do this." Isabelle whispered as she turned around and smiled at us. We all stared at her waiting for the answer.
"They won't be able to see that well, with their heavy thick hoods up, and little eye holes none of them can see us." Isabelle explained as she stepped out from the safe alley way into the open. No one advanced. She began to walk to the side towards the left. We all followed her without making a sound. Isabelle really has proven herself tonight. She lead us to where she knew there was a secret door. It had been very useful that Edith had told Isabelle all the secrets of the castle. It is making this less of what it is. Another Job for me.
The secret door opened, into a hallway. It had been hidden behind a book shelf. Isabelle walked forward as we all continued to follow cautiousness. She looked down each way of the hall then she looked to the right one last time. She began to walk slowly as we all followed. Her moves were nimble and quick her eyes focused on this. She knew that it was almost done, almost there. We all walked into a large dark room. I still holding my sword, Alexander still with his bow, Emeline still had her spell book, and Isabelle had two daggers. When we were in the center of the room lights all of a sudden came on around us. Sir Tybalt stood feet ahead of us smiling.
"Welcome Assassin." He whispered as guards, demon guards, filled the room We were surrounded. Sir Tybalt took a step forward towards us smiling happily. "Finally I get to be with Archer, the one who cannot die!" He laughed as he paced around us. "Now I get the honor of killing you." Sir Tybalt laughed. Emeline leaned towards me. "Archer do what you think is right when the time is right." She whispered quickly as she leaned away. I looked at her then I looked back to Sir Tybalt. "I really like this room, I hope your blood doesn't destroy it." Sir Tyablt whispered as he smiled more.
"Wait!" I yelled stopping everything. Everyone stared at me. I stood up straight and tall. "I mean, Sir Tybalt I challenge you to a duel. Winner takes all." I smiled. Sir Tybalt smiled right back at me. This was right, I knew it was. "A duel it is. But I must warn you, I don't play fair." Sir Tybalt whispered as he looked me straight in the eye. I just stared straight back.
