I slid out of my laying position on the floor and up to my knees, dipping my hands in the water to grab Matthew's arms as he drifted into unconsciousness.

His left wrist was slit and I wouldn't say blood poured out of it and that I had to call an ambulance to come and rescue him, while I bawled and cried my eyes out, because the guy I secretly actually loved was going to die.

Ha!

No.

The cut was barely deep, but not superficial; blood came out of it in a constant stream but it wasn't a lot. Still, added to the drunkenness, it was enough to make Matthew drift off.

And I didn't 'secretly actually love him'.

I sighed heavily as I slid him out of the tub with great difficulty even though he was just as small as me, wrapped him in a towel and put him in my bed, not without tripping a few times, maybe dropping him once or twice. Panting lightly, I went back into the bathroom to get the first aid kit I used when I sometimes cut too deep, preventing myself from going to the hospital. I don't hate, but don't particularly like hospitals.

After I put his clothes in the dryer, I used a face towel to dry up his arm to stop the water from washing away the coagulated blood and consequently make it bleed more. After dried, I made a bit of pressure in the lonely cut in his left wrist and wrapped the lint around it, fixating it with a piece of masking tape. I laid back on the bed but got up quickly, realizing I was still wet, and now cold.

Making sure Matthew was still passed out and that he wasn't going to throw up again, I slid off my wet clothes and entered the shower, finally having some peace since the day started.

Matt's P.O.V.

My vision was blurry at first, but as I rubbed my eyes, things became clear. I wasn't home. I wasn't at any of the guys' homes, I wasn't at Gemma's. I wasn't at the bar, not in my basement, nor the backyard, the pool or the tennis court.

I was in a bunk.

And there was a soft sound coming from above me. It sounded like a song, but I've never heard it before. The voice was familiar, but I couldn't quite place a finger on who it was.

For a while I just laid there, listening to the girl singing and feeling my whole body ache, trying to remember what happened.

I looked around the room; it was weird, but cool. Firstly, it was really big. The bunk wasn't a common one; it had a desk attached to it, and the bed I was laying in was a double bed. Across the room there was a bathroom with no door, and on the walls shelves filled with tonnes of books and four lava lamps of different colours. The massive windows that were by my side revealed a dark grey sky through the half opened blue blinds, and the cold breeze blew through it. Nothing else.

After examining the room I decided to check myself; maybe that was what I should've done first, considering I was wearing only my underwear and had gauze wrapped around my left wrist, which made me wonder what the hell happened, and again, where was I.

And then I started remembering.

Gemma coming over to pick up her things; the realization that she really left, and that she left behind everything we had once had. We argued, we screamed at each other, she threw things at me, she offended me, and made me realize how much of a pathetic shit I actually am.

She left and I did too; I couldn't stand that apartment anymore. She was everywhere.

Well, nowhere better than the pub to drown the sorrow.

Convincing the barman to serve me a drink with the triple of its price, I downed it quickly. And after that one, various other shots followed.

And then, blank.

''Matthew?''

I averted my gaze from what I now realized was my arm and looked up at the girl that called me.

''Anna?''

She wore this massive red and black knitted sweater and grey sweatpants and had her hair tied up in a bun, and seemed confused and frustrated, furrowing her eyebrows at me. I wondered where did she come from. Did she just appear there? Out of nowhere? She sprouted out of the ground I swear.

''Where do you live?'' She questioned.

''What?'' I narrowed my eyes at her.

''You have to go home.''

Wow, she really was caring wasn't she? I barely even woke up, having no memory of previous events whatsoever, and she is already kicking me out.

''What? No, you have to give me answers.'' I said as I sat up on the bed.

''I found you drunk out of your mind on a pub two blocks away and the barman told me to leave and take you with me, so I brought you here, because I had, and still have, no idea of where you live, and I couldn't leave you on the street, I guess. It was a hard task, seen as you were really a bit too drunk and the skies seemed to be falling down on us -- rain poured down relentlessly. God was taking the piss, I bet.''

''Alright.'' I laughed. ''And then...?'' I asked as I crossed my legs and rested my chin on my palm, with my elbow on my knee.

''I gave you a bath.''

I narrowed my eyes even more, looking at her intently. Now she just seemed completely emotionless; she had no expression whatsoever. What was wrong with this kid?

''Okay...''

''You were sick all over my bathroom. And then you tried to kill yourself.''

My eyes widened as I remembered. I only remembered that part, though. The razor I kept in between my fingers while she took away my clothes, sliding it across my wrist as I stupidly searched for 'relief'.

''Alright.'' I said, standing up, but nearly immediately sitting back down. When I stood up I felt light headed, my vision blurred and I felt like I could be sick again, right there and then.

But that wouldn't be nice with the girl. She already cleaned my vomit once today; guess it was enough.

''You okay there?''

''Not really.'' I muttered.

''Uh, let me get you some medicine.'' She mumbled before running off, returning a couple of minutes later with the tablets and a mug. She handed it to me and I looked up at her questioningly. ''It's tea. Drink it.''

I did as told, and god, it was actually a very nice tea.

''Where's this from? Good god, it's great.'' I spoke, half talking to myself, half asking her as I drank more of it, swallowing the tablets too.

She chuckled lightly, ''It's English, it's just normal tea.''
