The next time Matthew and I encountered was at Megan's flat the next weekend, when she invited us all to go and watch some random soccer play. She was apparently obsessed with soccer and that made her boyfriend go crazy jealous, because she was always talking about the players. At least that's what George told me when he was giving both Alex and I a ride.
Arriving there, the gang greeted us, and Matthew wasn't acting like he usually did around them. He was sweet. Smiled at me all the time. Hugged me all the time. Held my hand. And of course, people wouldn't let it go by unnoticed.
They asked about it, but we denied everything, even though at the end of the night we found ourselves once again together, this time at his massive 4 story black house.
We had had quite a few drinks and couldn't keep our hands off of each other. We were getting way past second base when his phone rang, interrupting us and making him sigh heavily and go get it, while I laid back on the couch, pulling up my jeans and clasping up my bra again.
After a couple minutes Matthew came back with a frown, which only grew when he saw I was with my clothes on again. I chuckled and asked him what was wrong.
''My brother is coming over.'' He grumbled as he slumped down beside me. ''That's what's wrong.''
''Don't you usually miss him?''
''Yeah, sometimes. But not when I'm this close to shagging a pretty girl.'' He said, gesturing with his hands, showing me how close he was to 'shag the pretty girl', and I laughed. ''And I'm drunk! I don't want to be with my 12 year old brother while I'm drunk.'' He sighed. ''And I still have you. You're here, I don't want you to go. We still have some unfinished business. Which, by the way, leads me to the question, why did you put your pants back on?''
I laughed openly now, half due to the alcohol I'd consumed, half because the way he'd said it and the face he'd made were funny enough.
''I wasn't sure of what was going on,'' I said through a massive smile. ''and now your brother is coming over. I better go…''
''No, stay here,'' Matthew nearly whispered as he approached me, his lips close to my ear as he kissed my jaw. ''…he won't mind…''
I moaned lightly, but still had some sense to push him away and get my ideas straight.
''As much as I'd love to stay, I have to go.''
''No, you don't… why?'' He made puppy eyes as he sneaked his arms around my waist, pulling me over to his lap.
I chuckled and pecked his lips, ''I still have to finish some homework, I've got school tomorrow…'' I whispered as I kissed his neck slowly.
''Wait,'' He responded, sobering up a bit and pushing me away lightly. He stared at me with a look of confusion of his face. ''…school?''
''Uh, yeah.''
''How old are you?''
Oh, great. This is the time I tell him I'm not old enough for him and that this should end. It lasted less than I expected.
''Seventeen.'' I mumbled, fiddling with my fingers, still sitting on his lap.
''Oh, god,'' He frowned. ''…you're seventeen?''
''Yeah.''
''Are you sure?''
''…pretty much.'' I chuckled. ''Why?''
''You really don't look like it. Not only because you're hot- I mean, beautiful, but because of the things that you say. You sound so much older. For a while I thought you were older than me, but then I figured I talk a lot of shit- and you don't really look more than 25- well, anyway… Was I really about to shag a- seventeen year old?''
I laughed, running a hand through his hair. ''I guess.''
''Wow.''
''Anyway,'' I said, getting up from his lap. ''I think I better get going.''
For a few minutes, while I collected my belongings around the room, it was silent. When I turned to look at him again and say goodbye, he came over to me and spoke up.
''Before you go,'' He held my hands. ''can I ask you a favour?''
''Yeah, sure.'' I said, running a hand down his neck and across his shoulder.
''Can you sing for me?''
I looked up into his eyes and he seemed genuinely curious and interested on what I had to offer.
''I, uh, I'm rubbish. I can't even- play an instrument.''
I shivered as his face got gradually closer to mine, his lips barely touching my skin all the way to my ear.
''Please.'' He whispered, making a shiver run down my spine.
I brought my hand up to his cheek and held his face gently. I pulled away lightly just so I could look into his eyes, and smiled.
''Sorry.'' I whispered back, kissing him quickly before gathering my bag and coat and walking over to the front door.
I left without looking back but I swear I still heard him sigh. And I did too.
