The day went rather smoothly after that little panic attack I had when I realized Matthew was getting in trouble because of me. Ross calmed me down telling me it was always like that and I had nothing to do with it, we went back inside, and everything was fine, just like that.
They rehearsed their cover for the Live Lounge next Wednesday (which I was particularly enthusiastic about; that'd be amazing, in all honesty), discussed touring issues, tour dates, equipment, staff and crew, and all that stuff. By the end of the day I was quite aware of the fact that they would leave in roughly two weeks to tour around Europe, playing in festivals.
''Hey, let's go eat something, I'm starving.'' George said while he and the boys walked out of the recording room and the managers/ producers/ sound people dispersed around the room and outside.
Matthew instantly pulled me close to him and wrapped his arm around my waist before kissing my cheek, obviously forgetting we hadn't told anyone about us.
Soon the guys were chuckling and cheering.
''Finally!'' George and Hann cheered as they made praising gestures and we laughed.
''It's official, then?'' Ross grinned.
''Uh, I mean-'' I blushed the slightest bit, looking down and fiddling with my bracelets, when Matthew interrupted me.
''Yeah, it's official. Anna's my girlfriend.''
I looked at him in disbelief, quite confused. For a few seconds I just stared at him, as he smiled softly. 'Anna's my girlfriend.' His voice echoed in my head. It sounded wrong. Really wrong. But it was that, in reality, that made me like it. It sounded wrong, but it was real, it was right.
I grinned, nuzzling my face into his neck.
''Cute.'' Hann chuckled, making me giggle like an idiot into 'my boyfriend's' neck.
After that, thankfully, the guys stopped talking about Matthew and I. We went to this nice café across the street, where we happened to bump into a member of Bastille. Literally, Ross walked into Kyle alone and they both nearly fell.
''Oh god, I'm sorry- oh hey Ross!'' Kyle laughed, greeting Ross with a hug, and then greeting us too.
And well, of course Kyle wouldn't fail to notice Matthew and I. He shot us a glance and wiggled his eyebrows, making the guys laugh while I awkwardly chuckled, blushing.
''So you've finally took on this... thing of yours?'' He asked me.
''Uh, yeah I guess. It's weird.'' I said, and they chuckled.
''I was just going outside to make a call to Janna, but the guys are over there.'' Kyle said, pointing at a booth at the back. ''Hey, guys! Dan!'' He yelled, waving at them.
They looked at us and smiled, waving back. Dan made signs for us to join them; I exchanged a glance with Matthew, and we did.
I sat down on the booth opposite to George, in between Dan and Matthew (who did not take his arm off my shoulders for not even a second since we left their studio). We greeted the guys and they started chatting, while I zoned out, thinking about everything and nothing. I had so much homework and final exams coming up, and then MGMT's concert on Thursday, and this whole thing with Matthew messing up my mind. It was awesome and terrible at the same time. I did not know how to feel, actually.
''Anna?'' Matthew called me, placing his hand on my thigh.
I blinked and woke up from my thoughts, looking around. The waiter had arrived and everyone stared at me.
''Uh?'' I mumbled, looking at Matthew.
''Your order?'' He chuckled.
''Oh, um, I'm not hungry-'' I looked at the waiter. ''Just a latte, please.''
He smiled and nodded, writing down the order and walking away. An embarrassing few seconds of people staring at me were enough to make me uncomfortable to the point where I'd start apologizing.
''It's alright,'' Matthew chuckled again, making me even more uncomfortable. ''but seriously, only a latte? You haven't eaten anything in like, 24 hours.'' He said more quietly while the others went back to their own conversations.
''Uh…'' I kind of stuttered, looking everywhere but at his eyes.
''What's wrong?''
''N-nothing.''
''Come on.''
Matthew's P.O.V.
Anna seemed really, really nervous. Looking around as if someone was watching her, fiddling with her bracelets viciously, seeming paranoid about something. And everything just because I mentioned eating.
''Anna, tell me what's wrong.'' I placed my hand on hers, but she pulled it away, still looking around.
''I just- I just don't- I can't eat. I mean, I have allergies. I don't like eating. I can't eat. I want to be-'' She lowered her tone to a whisper, as she checked, again, if anyone was looking. ''thin.''
''What?'' I narrowed my eyes. ''What are you saying? You are as thin as a freaking macbook air. You have to eat something. Seriously.''
Anna stopped looking around and stared into my eyes intently, coldly.
''I can't.''
''Of course you can,'' I said. ''here, have some chips.'' I pulled George's plate from him and placed it in front of her.
The guys stopped to look at us and there was a long silence as we observed Anna looking at the chips.
After a couple of minutes she started melting. She was sliding down the booth towards down the table, where she stayed for a few seconds before getting out from the other side and walking away like nothing ever happened.
Everyone looked at me with either confused, scared or amused faces.
''Weirdest kid on Earth.'' Woody chuckled.
''Worse than Catherine. Worse than Janna.'' Kyle shook his head, making them laugh.
''I should- I should go after her-'' I said, confused, still staring at the door from where she walked out of. ''-but I'm scared.''
Just then, Dan stood up. ''I'll come with, let's go.''
