Obispo Residence - Candelaria, Quezon
Benji was already in their house when Sunshine and Jorge went back at Obispo Residence. They saw him talking to her father in the living room upon entering the house. She could not believe how comfortable Benji was inside the house. She noticed how the server treated him nicely to the point of throwing some jokes at each other.
“Sinag mabuti at dumating na kayo ni Jorge. Magpapahanda na ako ng hapunan para maaga kayong makapunta sa Sinagtala” Teddy Obispo excitedly uttered and quickly walks to the kitchen without waiting for Sunshine’s comment.
“Good to see you again Benji. Does this mean that we are not going back to Manila tonight Sunshine?” Jorge asked
“How many times will you ask about it, Jorge? As far as I can remember, we already talked about it while we are on our way back here” Sunshine annoyingly replied to Jorge who is meaningfully smiling at him.
“I just wanted to make sure. O pili ka na kung saang couch pa matutulog Benji. Yung hindi mo mapipili, dun na lang ako” Jorge said
“You can both sleep in my room. I’ll just sleep in Tatay’s room” Sunshine said
“I will sleep in our house, you are welcome to sleep there Jorge if you like” Benji sincerely offered.
“Do you still own the house Benji? I thought your family sold it nung nasunog yung grocery store nyo” Jorge asked
“Only the grocery store lot was sold. Daddy did not want to sell it para kapag umuuwi kami dito sa Quezon, may matutuluyan kami instead of staying in the hotel” Benji replied
“Is it alright if I stay in your house for tonight?” Jorge excitedly asked
“Of course, we have a spare room anyway. You can use it tonight” Benji replied
“It’s alright Benji, thank you for the offer but Jorge is my guest so it is just normal that he stays with me. Just use my room Jorge. I’ll stay with tatay tonight. Na-miss ko na rin naman ang tatay ko” Sunshine commented but Jorge quickly objected
“I don’t want to invade your privacy Sunshine, staying with Benji will be a better set-up. I find his offer sincere. Therefore it will be impolite if I refused it. You have been away for too long, I’m sure you’ll miss your room already.” Jorge said.
“It is perfectly alright Sinag” Benji insisted
“I am old enough to know what to do with myself Sunshine and I think staying with Benji tonight will be better than to kick you out of your room” Jorge said
“I agree with Jorge” Tatay Teddy butts in and the three of them looked at his side. “Pero hindi ibig sabihin nun na hindi ka welcome dito sa bahay namin Jorge. Kung may mas maayos ka namang tutulugan bakit naman kita pipigilan” he added
“3 against 1, talo ka Sinagtala Obispo” Jorge said “Pwede na po bang maghapunan Mang Teddy?” he asked to stopped Sunshine from objecting. He knows his friend, she will not stop even everyone is not on her side.
“Kaya nga ako bumalik dito para tawagin kayo. Nakahanda na ang hapunan, tayo nang kumain at itigil nyo na yang pagtatalo na yan. Mas mabuting sa mga Rosales matulog si Jorge, magiging komportable sya dun” Tatay Teddy firmly said and Sunshine knows that, her father’s comment is her que that she should give up on insisting her point.
Tatay Teddy walks back to the dining area and Benji silently followed him. Jorge is about to walk towards the dining area too when Sunshine suddenly grabs her arms.
