Benji reported to RHC after his meeting with Beverly. He chooses to busy himself on catching up with the papers that he needs to review for his own company before he travels back to Candelaria.
He has been calling Sunshine after his meeting with Beverly but until he reaches RHC, Sunshine has not answer or even returns his call. This adds up to his worries, their argument the previous night ended up in an unclear state. His uncertainties now increase and he does not know how he shall start discussing with her the issue about Zandra’s lingerie.
“What time ka babalik ng Candelaria?” Marj asked him
“After dinner perhaps” Benji glumly replied
“Both discussions did not went well I supposed” Marj said
“This is what I hate about my Dad, he always crosses on the boundary line between work and personal concerns” Benji said
“What’s new, that’s the typical sir Riel. Anong sabi ni Beverly?” Marj asked
“She told me that I should discuss this with Sunshine and let her decide” Benji said
“But she already decided not to accept the offer” Marj said
“Yes and my Dad wanted me to convince her to re-consider” Benji replied
“Is there a chance that she will change her mind?” Marj asked
“There is, if I make her feel that I trust that she will do it professionally. The offer is really huge Marj, nakakalula pero nakakatakot din” Benji said
“Para saan ang takot? Para sa sarili mo?” Marj asked
“You know me better than that. I just could not comprehend why would a big company like Zandra’s would give such offer to someone known only to Paris but not globally. We have to admit na kahit dito sa Pilipinas, hindi ganong kasikat si Sunshine unlike in Paris. Why is Zandra’s taking that risk?” Benji uttered
“So you are taking this on a personal note” Marj said
“Personal interest to be exact, I really wanted to know what’s behind this huge offer to Sunshine despite her popularity status globally” Benji said
“Will you tell Sunshine about your hunch?” Marj asked
“Yes but I don’t know how. Ayoko kasing isipin nya na bias ako sa instinct ko, I want her to understand that I am only stating a businessman’s point of view and not as her boyfriend. This offer will boast her career but she should consider all pros and cons before she decides, mahirap magsisi sa huli” Benji said
“Sus ikaw pa ba boss, kayang-kaya mo yan ilusot yan kay Sunshine, Tiwala lang” Marj said and Benji just gave a smile of appreaciation.
Unit 716 – GabRo’s Residences
Benji prefers to spend sometime alone in his unit before he drives back to Candelaria. He lazily rested on his couch as he wanted to clear his mind first before leaving so that when he and Sunshine talk about the Zandra’s concern, they will have a better discussion on something that needs an immediate decision. As much a possible he does not want to meddle on Sunshine’s career as he wanted that their professional side to be separated from their personal side.
A few minutes later his phone vibrates and Sunshine’s number registers on the screen. He quickly answers it because he believes that she is what he needs at this point of uncertainties.
