Chapter 44 - Fair Deal

 Alabang

Instead of staying in his condo unit, Benji decided to go straight to his parent's house in Alabang. He wanted his discussion with his Dad to be done and over with so as he could go back to Quezon at once. Sunshine and him parted last night not in a very good state and he wanted to patch things up with his girl quickly. If not because of his Dad's immediate request to talk to him, he could have make things well with Sunshine the next day.

He woke up early the next day and saw his Dad is in the garden having his breakfast.

"Good morning Dad" Benji greeted

"There is nothing good in the morning Benji" Daddy Riel irritably said

"So what made them change their mind?" Benji calmly asked

"According to Beverly, Sunshine turned down their offer" Daddy Riel replied

"Anong kinalaman ni Sunshine sa deal natin with Zandra's" Benji asked

"You know about their huge interest to get her as their endorser" Daddy Riel said

"Is it really about their huge interest to get Sinag as their endorser or Jasper's huge personal interest on her?" Benji annoyingly asked

"Whatever it is, they will only give us the sole distributorship if Sunshine accepts their offer" Daddy Riel said. "We need to convince Sunshine to accept their offer Benji, we need to get Sunshine as their endorser" he added

"Leave Sinag out of this Dad, she has her own agency to decide on her work" Benji firmly said

"She is your girlfriend and the way I see it, in time she'll be a member of this family. Maliit na bagay lang naman ang hihilingin natin sa kanya for the sake of the business that will feed her future family" Daddy Riel said

"I have my own business that can feed my future family Dad. The business you're talking about is your ego, don't use my girlfriend to feed it" Benji said

"I am offended Benji, I am doing this for you, wala namang magmamana ng negosyong pinaghirapan kong itayo kundi ikaw lang" Daddy Riel said

"I'm sorry for offending you Dad, but the way we converse now, you don't consider that the girl you are talking about is someone very special to me. I am more offended na gagamitin mo sya at my expense just because of your so called business deal" Benji said

"All I am asking is for you to ask Sunshine to consider the offer" Daddy Riel said

"Why would I ask her to do something that I don't want her to do in the first place? There is no way that my girlfriend will endorse a lingerie line Dad, I am not allowing it" Benji said

"So tama ako na kaya hindi tinanggap ni Sunshine yung offer kasi alam nyang ayaw mo. I have to admit, I am impress son, Sunshine is a though girl para mapasunod mo" Daddy Riel commented. "I wonder how will she decide once ako na ang humingi nito sa kanya, sino kaya sa atin ang mas malakas sa kanya" Daddy Riel added

"Don't you dare Dad, because if you do that hindi na talaga ako uuwi dito" Benji said

"Is that a threat son? You know I can do that. So para wala na lang tayong pag-awayan gawin mo na lang ang gusto ko, I really wanted this account Benji. After natin makuha ang Zandra's, I will start to slow down and enjoy the fruits of my labor" Daddy Riel said

"Let me talk to Beverly first Dad, only then that I will decide" Benji replied in surrended because he knows what his Dad is capable of doing. He is very charismatic that even Sunshine will definitely give her yes.
