Sunshine’s Condo Unit
Sunshine is all set for her trip to Quezon the following day, she make herself ready so that as soon as her friend Jorge arrives, they are good to go. It was fifteen minutes before seven in the morning when she receive a text message from Jorge informing her that he is already at the lobby waiting for her. Sunshine quickly grabs her bag and hurried out of her unit to meet Jorge at the lobby.
Only while she was waiting for the lift that she realized how excited she is on this trip. “It only sinks in now, nandito na talaga ako sa Pilipinas at makikita ko na ulit si Tatay” she told herself.
She was all smile upon going out of the lift as it reaches the groud floor. But her smile was suddenly erased when she saw Jorge talking so someone she never wanted to see for the next 24 hours. She composed herself before she calls “Jorge” and the two gentlemen look at her way.
“Hey there pretty lady” Jorge said, all smile while extending his arms, waiting for her hug. Sunshine walks fast towards Jorge and allowed him to envelope his arms around her.
“Goodness gracious I miss you so much” Jorge happily said
“Me too, I miss you terribly” Sunshine replied while Benji awkwardly looks at them
“Eherm …. Good morning Sinag” Benji greeted
“Oh good morning Benji” Sunshine civilly replied while her arms still wraps around Jorge.
“Mag-ingat kayo sa byahe” Benji said
“Thank you Benji” Sunshine politely replied then quickly turn to Jorge “Shall we go now Jorge para nasa Candelaria na tayo before lunchtime” Sunshine told Jorge
“We will go ahead Benji, nice to see you again bro” Jorge said then extended his hand to Benji for a hand shake which Benji accepted.
Jorge took the bag she's carrying then Sunshine gladly wraps her arms to Jorge’s and together they went out of GabRo Residences building.
Benji was left staring at them until they finally exited from the building. He recalls how Sunshine and Jorge were so close during their high school days. They were good friends since high school and he never expected that their friendship remains until this day.
Benji checks on the time, it is five minutes before seven in the morning. He chooses to walk to the parking area and report for work even he is an hour and a half early. His office is located in Ayala Avenue. It could have been a five to ten minutes drive from his place to the office but due to tremendous traffic in Makati, he usually reaches his office after thirty minutes of driving.
RHC Office – 7:30 a.m.
Very few employees are already in the office when Benji arrived and all of them are surprised to see their CEO an hour early at work. He even arrived ahead of Marj, his secretary con executive assistant. He went straight in his office without looking at those employees who greeted him ‘good morning’. His mind is preoccupied this early in the morning, pre-occupied of the thought that Sunshine and Jorge are together going to their hometown in Candelaria Quezon.
Sinagtala, that is Sunshine’s real name. He does not know who changes it but it was changed when she started her career as fashion model in Paris. ‘Sikat ng araw’ that is the Filipino translation of Sunshine, while Starlight is the English translation of Sinag’s real name. For Benji he prefers Sinagtala than Sunshine, for him he prefers the stars than the sun. The sun has the capability to hurt people, much more burn them. While the star is a tranquil, it always brings calm to the people who are tired and wanted some peace.
