Candelaria to Laguna to Manila
Benji and Sunshine immediately left Candelaria a little before midnight. Though Tatay Teddy was surprised at Sunshine's decision to leave Candelaria one day ahead of schedule he did not opposed because he is more comfortable whenever it is Benji that Sunshine is with.
It was a smooth drive because Benji was too careful. His speedometer is not in the usual 100 to 110 kph speed everytime he travels alone to Candelaria. He does not want to reach Manila immediately.
"Anong oras kaya tayo makakarating ng Manila sa 40 to 60 kph na speed" Sunshine could not control herself in commenting. "Nakatulog na ako, paggising ko nandito pa rin tayo, natulog ka rin ba nung nakatulog ako?" she teasingly asked
"Dahan dahan lang kasi baka magising ka" Benji replied
"Hay naku Benji, kapag ako inantok kahit 120kph ka pa tumakbo mahimbing pa rin ang tulog ko, sanay akong matulog sa byahe, kasama yan sa trabaho ko" Sunshine said. "But sorry kasi tinulugan kita agad, I am such a lousy passenger" she added
"It's alright. We had such a long day today. I'm sure napagod ka talaga kanina" Benji said
"Korek napagod akong panoorin ang tantrums mo, grabe ako ang na-stress para sa mga staff ng tindahan pati na rin sa staff ng RHC" Sunshine said
"Grabe, parang monster naman ako kanina kung i-describe mo" Benji lamented
"Anong parang monster? You really were a monster earlier" Sunshine said
"Natakot ba kita?" Benji concernly asked
"Nope, I had an employer worst than you are when I was in Singapore. Lalo na kapag hindi nila nagustuhan yung paglilinis ko ng bahay nila. Even I don't understand what they were saying, I still feel that they are cursing me" Sunshine said
"Di ba IT assistant ang work mo sa Singapore, paano ka naglinis ng bahay?" Benji asked
"I work as a part time housekeeper to earn an extra amount of money, para maka-save naman ako" Sunshine replied. Benji got mum at Sunshine's revelation
"I'm sorry that you had to go through those hardships because of my stupidity" Benji again apologized.
"Mas maganda ba pag gabi ang byahe kesa sa umaga" Sunshine asked to sway the discussion as she does not want to talk about her painful experiences in the past.
Benji smiles as he understands what Sunshine is trying to imply. "Better sa gabi, mas less traffic" Benji replied
"Dati kasi, laging umaga kami magbyahe ni Tatay, grabe apat na oras halos bago makarating sa Manila. Laki na talaga ng pinagbago, ngayon two and a half an hour ok na" Sunshine said
"You are right maraming na talagang nagbago. Ako na lang ang hindi" Benji said
"What are you saying? Ang laki kaya ng ipinagbago mo, do you realized how successful you are now? Hard work really paid off" Sunshine said
"But my feelings for you haven't change. I will never get tired of telling you how much I like you, Sinagtala. Since then, until now, I like you a lot even you already had a change of heart" Benji sincerely said. "I know it was my fault for that change of heart but I will do my best to bring back the feelings that you had for me then. I will never give up on you Sinagtala Obispo kahit gaano katagal, I will never give up on you" he said
"You have all the reason to see someone else. It's been seven years, actually nearing eight years, if you are doing this because of guilt, you better stop now Benji" Sunshine said
