Chapter 24: The Battle of Beach City

The Homeworld ship floats 30 feet over the beach front. I jump high in the air, and notice that it's a commanding ship. This means...

"There's more!" Garnet yells from the beach. I see the other ships just coming through the atmosphere. I'm glad most humans have left the Earth already. I've got to protect the group that are already here! I land on the ground and look for the rest of the gems. 

"Pyrite! I need you please!" I call out, searching for the others. She appears from behind me.

"Yes, Pink Diamond?" Pyrite gives a smug look. I ignore the smirk.

"I need you to make them stop their controls." I command. Pyrite gulps, as she lifts her arms.

"I hope you know that this will take a lot out of me...don't expect me to pull out a sword later!" Pyrite complains. I nod and jump back in the air. I see Pearl, Amethyst, and Jasper. Where the heck is Lapis, Peridot, and Pinkie?! I fall to the ground and run to the three I see. 

"Jasper, you're better at ground level fighting! The Homeworld ships are here, and I need you to find the Famethyst to create a line of soldiers!" I tell Jasper. Jasper runs back to the temple agreeing to the plan. 

"Amethyst, I need you and Pearl to become Opal. I know, it's a lot to ask and that fusions shouldn't be used in this manner! But-" I begin.

"It's okay dude. I totally understand." Amethyst interrupts.

"Besides, it's been awhile." Pearl adds. I nod.

"Opal, I need her to shoot at the ships. Since, I was informed that she has a bow." I tell them. They nod, and begin a fusion dance. I look back at Pyrite, she's sweating buckets. I see Steven and Connie staring up, while Lion is inside the beach house. I hurrily head over to them.

"Okay, you two-" I say.

"It's only me. Connie...is afraid." Steven sighs. I look at Connie, and begin to talk again.

"Steven, bring Connie to safety. Then come to me." I lead. Steven and Connie start to run to the beach house. I find Garnet again.

"Garnet, both of you are a strong fighter. I only ask one thing." I look down of her.

"Yes Pink?" Garnet questions.

"If you feel the need for a bigger fusion...use Steven." I request. Garnet gives me a look. But, Pyrite falls to the ground from exhaustion. I look up, and the ships are launching soldiers. All from White's quart. I see a few Moonstones, but mainly Snow Quartzs. They charge at the line I had Jasper create. Opal, is firing her arrows at the ships. I force myself to look like a different gem, I can't be known yet. 

I turn into a Morganite, I'm still pink but this is a better disguise than regular old me. I take a sword out of my gem, and get into a fighting position. I shut my eyes and hear the sound of clashing. I open my eyes and begin to poof gems. I realize one blue gem in the mix of this chaos. A Blue Quartz. I know this one in particular as well. She's one of the leading Generals in Blue's armies. Now, why is she with White's troops? B. Quartz stares into my eyes and makes a run for me. My eyes widen, and I jump high in the air.

I stare out into the battle. Opal got all of the ships out from the sky, and is now beginning to poof gems as well. Garnet is doing well, however Steven is cornered. I head down on the ground, the Blue Quartz soldier still after me.

"STEVEN!" I reach my hand out so I can fling him onto my soldiers. He runs up and grabs my hand. I bring him into a hugging position, he hugs back. Then something hard flies towards my chest, I throw Steven into the air. I get hit between the ribs. If I had a human heart, it would've penetrated there. I analyze the weapon...it's a spear in a deep blue. I stare to find the Blue Quartz running up to me and grabbing the spear. She starts to talk, 

"I know it's you Pink. Blue sent me on the ships to give you help. I can't blow my cover, though." B. Quartz takes the spear and rips it out of my chest. I regenerate fast however. I look up and catch Steven.

"Okay, B. I'll distract them, you-" I was interrupted by a ship shooting light at the enemy gems, by the looks of it, it was a yellow/green ship. Wait, isn't that an Emerald ship! Steven looks at it in awe and smiles.

"Lars of the Stars..." Steven explains. I smile as well. We have a battleship, and more gems to help.
