Chapter 40: Ruby's Child

You stare at Reed. Especially at his Red gem on his palm. You're frozen, you thought that this might've been fake. Not even history. But, here you are...and your best friend since middle school is a gem. No wonder why he wears fingerless gloves. You begin to wobble on your feet. Reed catches you before you fall to the ground.

"(Y/n)! Are you okay?" Reed bites his lip. He seems quite nervous but he's tough. You get back on your feet as Pearl looks at Reed funny.

"Are you seriously going to ask me that? After this!" You try to get over this, but atlas you can't. It seems impossible.

"I guess I did...sorry. It's just...I didn't like this part of my life.." Reed puts his hand through his hair.

"Also, if you're supposed to be Ruby's kid why are you so..tall? Or actually your size!" You think back to how the book described Ruby.

"Well...it must've been a mixture of how Garnet was? I'm not sure...but...are we good?" Reed questions with worry pasted on his face. You sigh.

"Yeah...we're good. Besides, we've been friends for Five years. We can't stop now." You give a small smile. Reed finally exhales after holding it for your answer. Pearl claps her hands in excitement.

"Aw! Reed, you got a friend. What's their name? You should've visited sooner..." Pearl speaks after your and Reed's conversation.

"Uh...Pearl this is (y/n). (Y/n), this is Pearl. As you can tell from her features this is the Renegade Pearl." Reed shrugs. You can't help but to stand there awkwardly. You clear your throat and finally speak to Pearl.

"Hello there..." It's obvious you're uncomfortable. But Pearl nods and puts her hand out. You do the same, now you guys are shaking hands. After the handshake Pearl turns around.

"Follow me Reed and (y/n). Steven must know of your appearance at once! He'll be surprised to see you Reed. And another human, he'll enjoy that." Pearl begins to walk gracefully and quietly. Reed rolls his eyes and nudges you. You shrug, then all three of you are off to see..Steven. From the History book, Steven was important. He was practically Pink's right hand. Though...he was fourteen.

Pearl stops in front of a temple. It's a sharp temple, no moss or anything. It has luscious curly locks and five gem placements, or warp pads. A ruby, sapphire, rose quartz, amethyst, and pearl. The main people that were Crystal Gems...besides Pink of course. But now the people to make it a true person would be; Pearl, Amethyst, Sapphire, Steven, and Reed. Weird...

"This is our house, it got cleaned and fixed up since new gems arrived and we had to look sharp." Pearl winks. You spot a purple small person...Amethyst! Amethyst runs up to Pearl and they hug. They fuse....woah...you are amazed. They changed into lovers.

"So, Reed you finally showed up.." Opal grins.

"I guess I did...for summer vacation. You know, (y/n) for our last summer break before graduation...this isn't half bad." Reed turns to look at you. Opal laughs.

"So, (y/n) you finally brought Reed back to us since five years. Thanks." Opal nods.

"Don't mention it, I just wanted to see if gems were real.." You shrug.

"This isn't a shrugging matter, Sapphire will be truly happy to see her son again." Opal runs off. They're opposites...in a good way. Reed sees the view and nudges you with his shoulder again.

"Hey, look." Reed points. You look and see the beach's sunset. It's amazing...better than the city that's for sure.

"Woah.." You gasp out. Reed decides to look back at you...for just a glimpse. He smiles and looks back at the view.

"Reed?" A new voice calls out. Reed turns around and you also do the same. You spot a small blue lady. Sapphire. Sapphire runs at her son and jumps at him. Reed catches his mom and hugs her.

"Reed it's been years! I've missed you and your mother's gem.." Sapphire moves her bangs to reveal her all seeing eye. Reed puts his mom down.

"Yeah mom, I know. I just had to get away.." Reed replies. Sapphire taps her foot.

"Okay, okay. I will tell you next time when I leave." Reed rolls his eyes. Sapphire looks happy. Then she turns to me. She looks back at Reed, then back at me.

"And...who are you?" Sapphire asks.

"I am (y/n). Nice to meet you." You wave, Less shyly this time. Sapphire smiles, if only you knew what was coming...

Don't worry, I'll make another book. But it'll be about Reed and a name chosen from me. But...I will chose from the comments below. I hope you enjoyed the ride of Pink Diamond Lives. I had much fun writing this, and I learned a lot from it. Such as children friendly writing and just over all typing better. Also the picture isn't mine, I just liked it and I have no idea who the artist is...:/
