I sat on my breakfast bar holding my mobile phone in my hand. Should I text her now? Trixie did say to message her in the morning to make arrangements. I kept picking my mobile up and placing it back down on the bar. Grr! Good god girl get a grip. I picked my mobile up and quickly headed to my contacts. Clicking the name Trixie had named herself and opened a blank text.
Message sent 11:32am. Hey Horrible Person 🙊😜 You told me to give you text this morning. So here it is 😊
I placed the phone in to my jacket pocket and stood up from my stool. I began to pace the house as I eagerly waited for Trixie to message me back. I began to potter around. Recycling cardboard boxes, emptying suitcases and re arranging furniture. Breaking a sweat making my house a home I completely forgot I had text Trixie. I pulled my phone from my pocket. Looking at the screen. I scowled a little. Still no text. Had she bailed? Not like I have the right to feel mad right? Its not like we were dating. I smirked and rolled my eyes. At that point I stuffed my phone back in to my pocket and tutted. She bailed. Oh well. At least I got unpacking to look forward to. I wiped my brow and looked once more around at the boxes. It was getting there . Slowly.
DING!
Did she text? I excitedly fumbled for my mobile and looked at the screen.
Message Received 1:21pm :- Oh My God! 😣I am soooooo sorry! I saw your message and went in to panic mode and started to clean my apartment !🤣 You are welcome to call anytime from now😁😋 Horrible Person Xx
I beamed. I better get ready. I felt very excited and happy to be meeting Trixie again. It be nice to start over. I had slept well that night after that horrible ordeal. I was ready to make amends and move on as friends. I found a tight pink dress in my closet. It seemed perfect as Trixie seemed to like pink . It suddenly hit me. I have a pair of cowboy boots from my works do last year where I dressed up as the cowboy from Village people! I marched to one of the boxes marked "Costumes" and fumbled through the box. And I was not mistaken. There they were ! They were in brilliant condition. And white. They will definitely go with my dress. I slipped them on to my feet and checked myself out in the mirror. Hopefully Trixie will see the funny side of it . I perfected my hair and makeup in the bedroom window and left my house, locking the front door behind me. I sat in my car and slipped my phone out of my pocket to message Trixie where her address was so I could write it in to my SatNav.
2:15pm Message Sent. I can make my way over now. What is your address?😀😁
I waited a moment.
Message Received 2:16pm:- 666 Devils lane. I'm such an idiot street. You will see Satan standing at the end of the street with a fork 😈👹 If you see him, your going the right way.😹 Just tell him your name and he will know who you are. 😜🙊 Xx
I chuckled as I read the message. She still must have felt bad about what happened. Immediately another text buzzed through.
Message Received 2:16pm:- 32 Sand Willow Road. Blue Bird Apartments. Press apartment button 36 and i'll buzz you in. 😊 Xx
I smirked and shook my head. She had such a weird but funny sense of humor. I started the ignition and wrote Trixie's address in the Satnav and made my way to her apartment.
Upon getting there, I parked my car outside the apartment. 36.36.36 I kept repeating as I strolled to the front of the apartment block. I scanned the apartment numbers and their intercoms. 36. That's the one. I pressed it and there was no answer. I waited a few seconds and pressed again. The door buzzed for me to open. I opened the glass door and walked in. I followed the signs to Trixie's door. Why didn't she speak over the intercom? Puzzled I knocked the door. Again. No answer. I knocked harder and heard shuffling inside. The door opened but a chain stopped it from opening anymore.
"Hello? Trixie?"I said confused. Two little eyes stared back at me through the crack of the door.
"Why are you here? You a spy? You want my money! Get out of here ! I'll call the cops" Shouted a voice from the gap. It sounded like an elderly lady. Panicked I took a step back.
"I am so sorry I must have the wrong apa-_"
"Why did you knock? Are you FBI? You a stalker!" I heard a loud cackle behind me . It wasn't hard to know who's laugh that was. I turned to see Trixie in the doorway of the opposite apartment. She was leaning up against the door frame with her arms crossed. She had long, light purple hair flowing down her back. She wore a black dress. It was classy looking. Had we had the same idea about making a joke? I double took at Trixie. I couldn't say anything . This was number 36 right?
"It's Ok Ms Robertson. She's part of the health board. She is checking for rats" Trixie winked at me. She looked so cute doing it. I smirked.
"Oh good! You keep those disgusting, filthy animals out of here!" She shouted. And with that she slammed the door in my face. What was that all about. Trixie chuckled loudly.
"Sorry. I gave you the wrong apartment number. I'm 38" She said through laughing. Trixie pointed up to the top of her front door. The number 38 in gold was staring back at me. Why did she do that?
"I love irritating her. She is loosing her mind a little as you can tell but she is a hoot" Trixie stepped back and pressed herself against the wall of her apartment as for me pass her.
"Come in" She said sweetly. I walked over to her and stepped in to her apartment. The smell of food hit me. Mmm it smelt so good. I followed the hallway down to a big living room . Wow. When she said music equipment she really meant it. I looked around at the speakers that she had moved in to the back of the room. Two guitars were on their stands next to a plasma television. One pink and the other sand colored. She played guitar? A coffee table was in the middle of the living room just in front of a large grey sofa. On the table was two glasses already filled to the brim with what looked like red wine. How did she know I liked wine? Or lucky guess. There were a few small bowls of nibbles. Peanuts, tortilla chips and pretzels. A candle lit brightly in the middle of the table. I smiled widely. She really did want to show her apology. I stared for a moment. Taking in her apartment. I felt Trixie's hand on my shoulder.
"Take a seat" She said closely to my ear. I obeyed and took a seat in the middle of the sofa. She stood opposite me in front of the table .
"So I think we both thought of the same idea. I dressed classy and found a dress similar to your dress last night. And you wore similar to me. And those cowboy boots? They have tassels on the front and they are so fucking cute. I'll need to borrow them" She had put her hand on her hip and was pointing to my shoes. I looked down at my outfit.
"Yeah I think we did" I laughed a little.
"Have a drink! Dinner wont be to long" She said. She wore cute little black platforms that clipped her wooden floor as she entered a door that exited the living room . I was assuming it was the kitchen. I intertwined my hands in my lap and looked back around her apartment. There was a small photo hung on the wall of a young gentleman. He had shortish brown hair and wore a red checked shirt. Is that her? Out of drag? She is really cute !
