Smiling at Trixie, I pressed my lips up against the glass and took a sip of the wine. It was quite strong.

"I shouldn't drink to much. My car is parked outside." I said. Trixie's smile fell.

"You can have a few though" She uttered quickly.

"I could. But that would mean taking public transport and I have no idea which stop to get on or get off" I said, holding the wine glass in my hand. Trixie looked a little hurt as I said that . It was as if she wanted to keep me there for as long as she could.

"I could help you get home" She offered. I felt my heart skip as she offered. There was something about Trixie that I couldn't put my finger on yet. She was really sweet. I don't think she showed this side of her at her drag shows. Or that's what I expected. Not that I was complaining.

"Thank you " I answered. She grinned again showing that pearly white smile.

"It's a small town. I could walk you back. If you like. You could leave your car keys here and I will drive your car back in the morning for you and I will walk back home." She said. My heart beat as she spoke. Nobody has ever been so thoughtful like that before. She really was a sweetheart.

"That will be so kind of you" I said as I brought the wine glass up to my mouth and took another drink. I couldn't break eye contact with her as I drank. She turned to her left side and picked up the television remote that was on a small cabinet next to the sofa. She switched the television on and played music from it quietly. The evening was drawing in. Trixie stood from the sofa and lit candles around the living room. She closed the curtains of the room. The sight of the country leaving my eyes. Where Trixie lived was very quiet. It was a quiet town with apartment buildings and a mall. It was modern for where we lived.

The night began to pass quickly as I sat and listened to Trixie's stories. Her drag stories, her life, her music. I didn't really talk about myself. I found myself so engrossed in her. She was a pretty, talented and amazing person.

"Oh by the way, he has a single bed, and it's broken so its slanted like this. And it doesn't have a sheet on it. And I knew! I had to get out of there."  I laughed loudly as we polished the whole bottle of red wine. Trixie tucked her purple hair behind her ear and smiled. A little giddy I placed my empty glass on to the table. I cleared my throat. It's getting late.

"I better make my way home. I don't want to fall in a hedge somewhere. This wine is really getting to my head" I said giddily. Trixie smiled sweetly as I spoke.

"I have had a lovely evening. I have had a really good time. You are such a sweet person. I mean that sincerely" I said confidently, the drink mixing with my emotions. Trixie looked away.

"I am still truly sorry. From the bottom of my heart. I never meant for that to happen last night. Besides. If it didn't happen. I wouldn't be sat here having fine wine with a pretty girl in my apartment" She said. I felt my cheeks flush a little as she said that. I nervously smiled and looked away. I noticed the clock hung on the wall. It was really late. Trixie stood up from the sofa.

"Come on, I'll walk you home" She said. She left the living area for a few moments. While she was gone I placed my shoes back on to my feet that I had took off previously in the night and stood up. Straightening my dress, I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror. I quickly tucked my hair behind my ears and re presented myself. That's better. Trixie returned with flat, pink cowboy shoes on and was holding the cake she had made. It was in a Tupperware box with a lid.

"Here. Take this home with you" She said, handing me the cake.

"Thank you". I answered taking the cake from her hands .

"Have you got a coat?" She asked concerned as she looked me up and down.

"I didn't bring one " I answered truthfully. I didn't exactly remember. I drove here so didn't really think ahead. Without another word Trixie walked to the front door. There was a coat rack just to the left of the door. She pulled something off it and handed it to me. It was a bright pink leather jacket. It was really cute.

"Here" She said handing it to me.

"Its going to be really cold out . You can't walk home in the cold in just that" She glanced at me and turned again to the coat rack and pulled another coat off for herself to wear. I placed the jacket over my arms. I placed my keys on the cabinet just to the side of the door for Trixie to bring my car back in the morning .Trixie began to turn the apartment lights off and we headed out of the building and out on to the street. She was right. It was cold. I rubbed my arms as we walked side by side.
