By the time school started Yoongi was miserable. He didn't end up having any friends in any of his classes. He wasn't allowed to see Hoseok even though they were in the same building. They had a policy about the older and younger kids hanging out together. The teachers say the older kids and 'bad influences'. Because of this the two sections of the school had completely different schedules. The schedule was annoying and started earlier then normal. There was a different time for lunch and recess. The only time he could see his younger friends was on the bus before and after school. The only thing Yoongi liked better was that he got a locker. He liked having a secure place to put his things because he didn't trust anyone not to touch his things.Another reason he liked his locker was because Suran always visited him there. While he was getting his things in the morning before class she'd come up and say hi to him. They had short conversations, they joked together and teased each other, flirting almost. This only made his crush on Suran grow. As the year carried on they became very touchy with each other and always spent time together. Whenever Yoongi saw Hoseok the younger would tease him about his feelings towards Suran.
"Did she touch your shoulder again? Did she blush when you pushed her hair out of her face?" Hobi asked jokingly. His jokes were always scarily accurate to the truth. Because she had touched Yoongi's shoulder and He had pushed her hair out of her face.
"Anyways, are you gonna go to that winter dance? I can't go but I really want to! You should go with Suran! I'm sure she'd love it!" Hobi rambled enthusiastically. Hoseok was always looking for an excuse to dance whether it was in a class or just for fun. Yoongi on the other hand didn't really enjoy dance. It was nice to watch but he never had the desire to participate, not to mention the amount of people that would be at a school dance. Although Yoongi had to admit, it was a great way to get close to Suran.
"Maybe I will." He said to Hoseok's contentment.
.......
Winter was always fun at school, there were snow hills to play on, forts to build and snow ball fights to happen whether they were permitted or not. The only unfortunate part of winter was the cold, Yoongi could wear 20 layers of really warm clothing and he'd still be freezing his ass off.
Another thing that really sucked about school was Seokjin. He didn't have any classes with him and they avoided each other during recess. They only exchanged angsty glares and the occasional eye roll. It was very immature but neither cared. Jin didn't care about Yoongi's apology and Yoongi had other things to worry about.
Before he was aloud to go to any dances he had projects to finish, for almost every class. Yoongi hated public speaking and he was paired with the weird quiet kid in class. His name was Dowoon and he didn't talk very much, meaning that while presenting Yoongi would have to do most, if not all of the talking. When they worked on the project in class, Dowoon did most of the work. Yoongi wasn't complaining.
He wasn't complaining until they got up to present and didn't understand the subject they were talking about. He knew the class was science but he didn't know which science. The project had something to do with animals and plants, so he bullshitted his way through the presentation. Telling by the look on his teacher's and Dowoon's face he didn't do too well.
After that project Dowoon only occasionally talked to Yoongi. He was the only one that kid would talk to. Yoongi was kinda happy to have a new acquaintance one of his classes. School got lonely when you were surrounded by people you didn't talk to. It almost felt more lonely, because you're never alone but nobody cares enough to talk to you. That's why Yoongi didn't mind talking to Dowoon. He didn't have any friends at the school from what Yoongi could see and spent a lot of time by himself. If anything, Yoongi wanted to be a person he could talk to if nothing else.
.......
"Yoonie!" Suran yelled from down the hall. Yoongi was standing at his locker when the girl came running towards him.
"What?"
"A little birdie told me you had two tickets to the dance? Might I ask who the second ticket is for?" She asked in an innocent tone. Yoongi knew that she knew the ticket was for her. Hobi probably blabbed about his plan to ask Suran to the dance.
"Damn you Hoseok." Yoongi said under his breath.
"What?"
"Nothing...Anyways. I was wondering if maybe you wanted to go with me?" Yoongi asked. She acted fake surprised.
"I never thought you'd ask! Of course I'll go with you." Suran answered in a really annoying tone.
"Great! Let's meet at the park at around 6 Friday then walk." Yoongi explained. He received a nod of confirmation from Suran. Yoongi grabbed his binder then closed his locker. Hoping to get to class before the bell rang.
