Halfway through grade 7 Yoongi was in his prime, he had friends, he wasn't dealing with any issues, he could just focus on school. Sure there was the odd bully but it wasn't that often. Yoongi actually decided to make an effort in class this year, that reflected well in his school work. For the first time in his life teachers actually seemed happy with him, he didn't get called down to the principles office once that year. Deep down Yoongi was proud of himself, he would never say it out loud though, he needed to keep his image.Even though Yoongi never ate lunch with his friends they were all closer then ever. Getting work done early had benefits, he had more free time in class and some days he was allowed to visit Hoseok's class. Dowoon and Namjoon became really good friend over the course of the year, the two often invited the others to play video games after school. Suran didn't hangout with them all that much, she decided to spend more time with Wendy and Irene. Yoongi didn't blame her, he would've been upset too. They occasionally greeted each other in the halls and if she was in the mood, visit Yoongi and Hobi at their lockers. Yoongi was just glad that he didn't completely fuck up their friendship.
Hoseok and Yoongi spent every lunch together practicing piano. Hobi asked Yoongi to teach him to play, they went over the basics. The setting was rather intimate and cosy, Hoseok couldn't help but think about what this would look like if he told Yoongi. He should just tell Yoongi about his crush, but something was constantly holding him back. Like if he were to finally tell Yoongi something bad would happen and he'd be left alone. Hoseok couldn't lose Yoongi, even if he constantly acted as a strong person he wasn't. Yoongi was his major support through everything and he couldn't bare to lose that.
The only thing that could really be improved in Yoongi's life is his home life. His mom was always worried about everything. She was panicky and wouldn't let Yoongi go anywhere without a full description of exactly where he was going. When he was home he could feel her eyes constantly on him, watching and retaining everything he did. She was almost desperate to make memories and it really weirded Yoongi out. She was extra affectionate when he left for school and extra clingy when he got home. Usually he'd lock himself in his room but he felt bad for his mom. He didn't know exactly what was happening with the divorce but she was seriously effected by it.
When Yoongi visited his fathers house he tried to have as minimal interaction as possible. He didn't eat dinner with them, he didn't sit with them and watch movies. He didn't do anything with them. It was like living with strangers. Yoongi past his father and couldn't even see the man who raised him. All he could see was the homophobic, toxic man who cheated on his mother. Yoongi barely knew his girlfriend's name, let alone anything about her. She wore tacky makeup and ugly clothes. She always stuck up the house with cigarette smoke, it was like a cloud that followed her everywhere. Darla made an effort to know Yoongi at first but just gave up half way through. The house they lived in together wasn't very homey, there were still boxes and boxes of things his father brought over. Yoongi though they were both too lazy to unpack, he never though what happened would.
.......Yoongi always walked the long way to and from school, he still didn't want to pass the high school. He actually enjoyed the walk, it was nicer then the usual path he took. He got to adventure through the trees and listen to more music. He also got to spend more time with friends. Tae and Jimin stopped going to clubs after school and walked with them too. The seven of them took the path everyday. Tae, Jimin and Kook all walked together. The older two pampering the brat, Jin and Namjoon usually walked behind them talking about books and movies none of the others watched. Yoongi and Hoseok walked in the back, they usually shared earbuds and just listened to music while taking in the nature. They always walked close together, shoulders constantly bumping into each other. On this particular day, Hoseok was feeling extra bold and tried to hold Yoongi's hands.
