"Holy shit your house is nice!" Yoongi shouts as he enters Jeremy's home. He was soaking wet, the umbrella didn't really seem to help with the rain. Yoongi's black hair was plastered to his forehead, his t-shirt was tight to his figure. The Van's he wore were probably destroyed but he couldn't care less, Yoongi got to spend some alone time with Jeremy."Thanks, my parents are working so we have the house to ourselves." Jeremy explained. The thoughts of what the two could do flooded Yoongi's brain. His brain needed a deep cleansing. As Yoongi daydreamed Jeremy gave him a tour of the house, pointing out different rooms and points of interest. The tour ended in Jeremy's favourite room, the music room. Both of Jeremy's parents had careers involving music. His dad was a private music teacher for the local university and his mom was a musical therapist, the only one in town.
"Do you play?" Yoongi asked, Jeremy walked into the room and picked up a guitar.
"Just a little... do you?" Jeremy asked in return.
"I play piano actually, I'm a bit out of practice though." Yoongi admitting, it wasn't his fault his father sold his piano.
"Wanna make a deal, I'll play for you if you play for me." Jeremy bartered. Yoongi really wanted to hear the older play, but he hasn't played piano in at least 3 months. He considered the outcomes, then ultimately agreed. Yoongi walked further into the music room and sat on the piano bench facing Jeremy. The older strum the guitar to check if it were tuned, then began to play. He chose a few chords trying to find ones that went together, then started to play a strumming pattern. Jeremy's body looked relax while playing but his face was deep in concentration, his tongue even poked out of his mouth a little. Yoongi found it incredibly cute and couldn't help but smile. Jeremy's song slowly came to a close, when he looked up Yoongi was giving him a standing ovation.
"You're a great player." Yoongi complimented. Jeremy blushed at the compliment and kind of tried to hide behind his guitar.
"Okay enough of me, I wanna hear you now." Jeremy said, trying to get Yoongi's attention off of him. Yoongi turned to face the piano and put his hands on the keys, only gently caressing them. It has been a while old friend. Yoongi thought to himself when he played the first chord. He felt the a new energy rush through him when he played and was reminded of why he did. The music blinded him, took away his thoughts, and muted the outside world. When Yoongi played, there was only him and his music. Oh how he so desperately missed this. He used to spend hours locked away playing music, helping him get away from life for a bit. As his fingers slowed down the world slowly rushed back and he was returned to reality. When the song ended ever so softly, he was hyper aware of his surroundings and eagerly waited for Jeremy's reaction.
"Woah, I don't... I don't even know what to say..." Jeremy finally said after a few minutes of silence. Watching Yoongi play was like watching someone dance. His whole body was engaged in the music as he moved his fingers from note to note. Jeremy felt vulnerable after listening to Yoongi play, he didn't understand why.
"Thanks." Yoongi said shyly. He never knew how to react when people complimented him. The boys just sat there for a while until they both tried to speak at once.
"You go." Yoongi said.
"Um.. Ive been wondering if you could help me write a song. Ive been wanting to for years but I just don't know how." Jeremy asked shyly.
"That's what I was gonna ask you. I wrote a song and it doesn't really suit piano, I need a guitar player." Yoongi admitted. He had wrote the song last week and tried it on the piano, but something just didn't sound right. After listening to Jeremy he realized what he needed.
"I'll be your guitar player." Jeremy said with a smile. He seemed quite happy to be working with Yoongi, the feeling was mutual.
.......The rest of the afternoon both boys plan the song. What chords, what strumming pattern, the tone, baseline, etc. There was lots to discuss but they had lots of time. The two had moved from the music room to the kitchen to get a snack, to the dining room, then finally to Jeremy's bedroom. Yoongi had an internal meltdown when Jeremy started leading them into his room. Yoongi couldn't help but let his thoughts wander.
"Hey Yoon." Jeremy snapped, pulling Yoongi out of the gutter. They were discussing the tone of the song, it was a rather sad song if Yoongi were being honest. Most of his songs have been sad lately.
"I want it to slowly fade at the end, sound like it's dying off. It will sound kind of haunting like that, that's the vibe I'm going for." Yoongi explained. Jeremy tried playing it again but something just wasn't right. Jeremy just didn't understand where he was coming from, how to make him understand.
"I don't think you're in the right headspace." Yoongi started. "Imagine you have a massive crush on someone. Like you really like them, but you don't know if they even care. And that's all you can think about anymore."
Jeremy took in the information, took a deep breath and then played. This time something clicked. Everything sounded like it was supposed to, everything was hauntingly beautiful. Just the way Yoongi intended.
"There we go, that's it." Yoongi clapped happily.
"That's how I have to play?"
"That's how you have to play." Yoongi answered. The two arranged plans to record in the next few days. It would need to be at Yoongi's house, he couldn't bring his make shift equipment over.
"How do you even record anyways?" Jeremy asked.
"Well, I use a mic from the old karaoke machine at my house and attach it to my computer. I make the beat using my iPod then export it onto my computer. Then to mix it I use an app I found." Yoongi explained. It was quite a complicated process, that was way over simplified. On top of that he needed to record vocals and layer those, which took time. Yoongi put lots of effort into every song he created, this one would be no different.
"Thanks for letting me help you." Jeremy said. The two were sitting on Jeremy's bed. Yoongi was writing notes in the notebook he got for Christmas and Jeremy was playing around on the guitar. Yoongi was also looking up and mentally painting pictures of Jeremy playing the guitar when the older wasn't paying attention. The fact that Jeremy was a musician only added to the long list of reasons Yoongi was completely infatuated with him.
"Thanks for helping me, this song means a lot to me." Yoongi explained. Not looking up from the notebook. He feared he would combust spontaneously if he did.
"That story you told me earlier, about liking someone and not knowing if they care. Is that how you feel?" Jeremy asked. Yoongi didn't notice it before but the older boy was sitting extremely close to him. Yoongi could almost feel his breath. Yoongi quickly shifted but Jeremy just got closer and closer to him, until they were sitting shoulder to shoulder. Yoongi couldn't look at him, he couldn't lift his head. He could tell that Jeremy was staring at him now.
"You know I can tell every time you stare at me." Jeremy said quietly. It was almost a whisper, it sent a shiver down Yoongi's spine. He could feel his face blushing, he could feel the blood pumping in his body.
"You should know that I do care. I care very much." Jeremy said finally. Yoongi slowly lowered his notebook and finally looked up at the older. Yoongi didn't notice how tall he was, not until now. He was nervous and couldn't stop biting his own lip.
Yoongi finally lifted his eyes to Jeremy's and neither of them could stop themselves. Jeremy bent down and hungrily kissed Yoongi's lips. Yoongi completely melted at the touch of their lips, in that moment there was only the two of them. This kiss felt a lot more real then any of the kisses with Suran. This kiss made Yoongi unconfused. This kiss put all the pieces together for Yoongi. When they broke apart neither of them could look the other in the eye. They weren't ashamed. It was just all too much. They had only known each other for less then two weeks, it felt as though they've known each other forever. Yoongi spoke first.
"I'm glad you care."
