Yoongi willingly woke up early for the first time in years, he needed to after all. Today he and Hoseok were going to be leaving for university. Quickly the boy got dressed and made his bed before going around his room and putting the last few things he needed into boxes. While he was preoccupied packing the last of his things he didn't notice his mother standing in the doorway. She watched with teary eyes as her son prepared for the rest of his life.
The tears were a mixture of happiness, pride and sadness. She was happy Yoongi was leaving the nest and accomplishing his dream, however, this was her son. She finally got him back after so long only for him to lose him again. After a few moments, Yoongi finally heard the sniffles and didn't even think twice before walking over to his mother and embracing her.
"I love you." He said as she cried and held tightly onto her son.
"I love you so much, I'm so proud of you. You're happy and thriving and accomplishing your dreams. I'm so proud of you Suga." Yoongi's mother said after they broke apart. She gently brushed his hair out of his face and kissed both his cheeks before kissing the tip of his nose. A faint red lipstick stain was left on his nose causing them both to laugh.
"I'm gonna miss you," Yoongi finally said, picking up the final box.
"I will too, but you'll come back on holidays and hopefully for at least parts of the summer. And if you ever need me I'll zip down there in a heartbeat." Yoongi's Mother explained as they walked down the stairs towards the door. His mother pushed open the front door allowing her son to put the last of his things in the car. Before coming back into the house Yoongi walked over to Hoseok's house and gave him his car keys.
When the door opened it was Hoseok's father, he thanked Yoongi and took the keys before returning to his breakfast. He explained that Hoseok was still packing his things upstairs. After Yoongi closed the door a loud bang was heard from the upstairs causing Yoongi to laugh.
When he returned home, Yoongi's mother was making them both some coffee. She had already prepared a large stack of pancakes for the two of them to share. Was Yoongi ever going to miss this, the large breakfasts, the coffee, the sense of home and his mom. The two sat for about an hour talking about everything. Yoongi shared his excitement and his fears. They laughed a lot but there was the constant sad undertone.
The two discussed the apartment he and Hoseok had found over the summer. It wasn't very big, but it was in a good part of town and they could both afford it. Over the summertime, Hoseok had also managed to find a job at a cafe down the street from their apartment. The owner was rather kind and offered him the job after overhearing the two boys discussing finances.
To avoid being alone all the time, Simon was planning on moving in with his mother over the next week. He had been working all summer and this was the only time he could get a week off to fully move. Yoongi was happy his mother finally found someone who makes her genuinely happy. Over the past few months, Simon had acted more like a father than his real one ever did, Yoongi was grateful for that.
While Yoongi and his mother were cleaning up the dishes from their final breakfast together for a while, Yoongi heard a constant knock at the door. Knowing exactly who it was, Yoongi excused himself and walked over to the door. When he opened it the four idiots he spent most of his time with came tumbling in. Namjoon was first to hug Yoongi, followed by Jimin and Tae. For a while, Hoseok just stood in the door until Yoongi pulled him in giving him a peck on the lips.
"Well, Today's the big day. You nervous?" Namjoon asked as they walked into the living room. Yoongi's mother was greeted by all her son's friends as they passed the kitchen. They only had a little bit of time until Hoseok and Yoongi needed to leave and the three other friends insisted on sending them off. Namjoon still had a week until he needed to leave for his business school, but because of Yoongi's internship, the two other graduates needed to leave early.
