Yoongi woke up the next morning feeling happy. It had been a while since he woke up happy. He had a good feeling about today like it would be different from the rest of the week. Like something good would happen. If only he had known about what this Saturday had in store. When he walked downstairs, Yoongi was faced with the reality of the day. His parents were both seated in the living room having a quiet argument, it appears as though they were trying not to wake Yoongi up. Yoongi just decided to avoid the living room and went straight to the kitchen. He poured himself some cereal, then added milk because that's the way cereal is supposed to be eaten. He then sat alone at the kitchen table. As his parents argument went on, it got louder. Yoongi left the kitchen in search for his iPod to drown out the fighting.
When he reached his room he quickly located his iPod and turned on some music. He listened to the usual, Eminem, Nas even some Pharrell. Their songs seemed to perfectly drown out his parents shouts, allowing him to go about his usual business. Yoongi sat at his desk and did the homework assigned for the weekend, then he read for a little while, when he became bored with that we played a game on his iPod. His parents didn't want him to download anything but music on his device but Yoongi still downloaded a few games.
As about 1 hour passed Yoongi became very bored of his room and wanted to go outside. So he got dressed only removing his music for a second to get a clean shirt over his head, then snuck out the back door attached to the kitchen.
He walked down the driveway towards the park across the street. When he reached the park there was only one other person there, none other then Kim Seokjin. Yoongi was tempted to just go back home, then he got flashbacks from this morning and just decided to go to the park.
Yoongi went directly to the swing, still listening to his music. He pumped his legs slowly, gently bringing him off the ground. As the swing brought him higher, the less he pumped his legs and just enjoyed the feeling of being in the air. He felt the cool winter air touch his cheeks, he felt the biting cold chain attack his hands, he felt the cool wind blow his hair out of place. When his feet touched the ground again, Yoongi felt more calm, that was until he spotted Jin directly in front of him. Jin appeared as though he was trying to talk to him, he didn't notice the earbuds in his ears. Yoongi tried to ignore him and just swing again but he was stopped abruptly when the older grabbed the chain and pulled out his earbuds.
"I'm trying to apologize." Jin said in frustration.
"I can see that. And I accept your apology, that doesn't mean that I have to spend time with you. In fact your mother wants nothing to do with me right now, so you could get in deep shit for being around me right now." Yoongi answered. Jin just stood there unsure of what to say, Yoongi was about to start swinging again when Jin stopped him for the second time.
"Since when do you care about what parents have to say?" Jin asked.
"I don't but you do and I don't want you to get into more trouble at my expense." Yoongi explained. There was yet another moment of silence. Yoongi didn't try swinging this time knowing that the older would probably stop him again.
"I don't care about getting in trouble. I want my friend back." Jin complained. Yoongi just looked up at the older unsure if he was being serious or not.
"You punched my brother not me, he honestly deserved to be punched. If I were in your place I probably would've done the same." Jin explained further.
"Then why did you get so pissy with me?" Yoongi asked.
"Because I wasn't thinking about things from your perspective and Hobi told my you were upset afterwards. I felt bad okay." Jin tried to explain, but there was one thing Yoongi still wasn't sure about.
"If you felt so bad why did you tell Suran to go to the dance alone?"
"Because I didn't really know any of this until it was too late. I started feeling bad the day before the dance but there was nothing I could've done. Suran already planned a ride and everything." Jin said. Yoongi could tell that his friend was telling the truth.
"Fine."
"Fine what?"
"Fine we can be friends again, dispite your meddling last night I actually had a really good time." Yoongi started talking. The two old friends ended up catching up about all the time they missed. Yoongi told Jin about his fight and kiss with Suran. Jin told Yoongi that because of his little outburst Jungkook was going to Taekwondo lessons to build up self defence. Jin also talked about how annoying the rest of his class was. He didn't have any friends in the class and couldn't make any friends. Yoongi talked about Dowoon briefly, then said he'd introduce the two at school Monday.
The two boys stayed outside until Yoongi began shivering.
"See you at school Monday!" Jin shouted while walking home.
"See ya!" Yoongi yelled back while crossing the street back to his home.
.......
There was something strange happening when Yoongi entered his home, it was quiet for once, too quiet. As Yoongi entered the living room he noticed that his parents weren't there, he visited the kitchen, then finally the dining room where he finally found them. His two parents were sitting at the end of the dining room table surrounded by a pile of paperwork. As soon as Yoongi entered the room both parents noticed.
"Hey Suga, come over here and sit down. Your dad and I need to talk to you." Yoongi's Mother said, pulling out a chair for him to sit on.
"This will probably be difficult for you to understand and hard to process but... your mother and I are getting a divorce." Yoongi's father said. After he said that Yoongi looked at the paperwork and noticed exactly what it was for.
"I know it's probably a lot right now Suga but this is what's best for all of us. I'm sure you know how much we've been fighting lately." His mom said with a soft, calming tone. Yoongi just nodded his head in response.
"Right now we're just trying to decide who gets what, your mom will get the house, I'll get some of the things in it, we just need to decided what to do with you." His dad said, sounding a bit harsh. Yoongi just nodded again, in the long run he knew he would have no say in anything that's happening between his parents.
"Hey Suga, it's okay to be upset about this."
"I know." Yoongi muttered, he then started to get up and leave his parents to their bickering and bartering.
"Suga, there's some supper left on the stove if you're feeling hungry." His mom said to him while he left the room. Yoongi went to the kitchen and got the last of the soup from the pot before retreating back to his room. He sat at his desk in front of the window and ate his lukewarm soup, before drowning out his feelings with music.
